Crazy this thread popped up yesterday. Just yesterday I was test driving a few cars -looking for a brand new one- and didn't even think about getting a box car... Well sitting right next to one of the SUVs we were interested in was a Nissan Cube... I looked in and thought it looked roomy and cool.... So I asked to look inside and before I knew it I'm doing 80 down the highway XD... It only has a 1.8 liter but that thing moves, pulls kinda like a civic. Anyways... That got us thinking, maybe these box cars aren't so bad, so we went and test drove a Soul and an xB both were really nice as well. All 3 were Mid range models and 2011. I liked the features on the Soul the most, but the Cube just had something about it I couldn't put my finger on, but I like it. Only thing was the noise of the wind when you are at highway speeds.
Short version: Go test drive a few and find out what works and fits your style. Either one that I test drove was above what I expected.
If you do test drive them, let me know what you thought about them. I'm still on the fence about which one I'm gonna get, but the cube is on the top, then the Soul.
What's up with Americans and their pick up trucks? Do you honestly need those monsters for something?
How else are we supposed to transport our drunken, shot gun toting, rednecks around?
In all seriousness, yes, we do actually have a purpose for our Trucks. Most the people down here, in the South, have trailers, animals, a lawn care business, a camper, stuff that needs to be moved etc, all of these require a truck to pull them.

Dumbo, even though its a pick up, its a small one, and its not with a sedan or roadster that he'll be able to move his dish washer and his lazyboy, i'm relating to the topic starter, not my own preferences...........
See thats what happens with 99.9% of the threads, people start arguing about whats the prettiest or whats the best for your personal choice. We're talking about a car to be able to move stuff. I'm trying to avoid goseki of buying one of those box type cars, which I laugh at every time I see one...
Saying that you love roadsters is COMPLETELY irrelevant to this topic no offense.
Us europeans have very different views towards cars compared to Americans.
We generally think people who get pickups / 4x4s, without an actual need for it (as in they need it for a job etc.. not to move a fridge once every 5 years) as idiots. Especially considering most people who buy them are school mums (they think it's safer for their kids) who have no control over them.
Pretty sure you lot in America think the complete opposite.

Basically I'm looking for something that's about the size of a sedan or mini suv, but is still fun to drive.
I'm not racing in this car so it doesn't need much power. So far:
Kia Soul Scion XB
I want the box-type since it has a lot more space and comfy spacing interior. I want to be able to move all my shit without 5+ trips as is my current situation with my Honda Civic.

^Thank you!
Plus I don't think OP is offended by the fact that I mentioned what kind of cars I like. And OP wanted to buy hatchback not pick up. Am I correct?
Never said he was offended your just posting something irrelevant to the thread, the OP wanted to know which car was useful to his needs. The OP didn't ask which car you would love to own. Am I correct?
Now the reason I mentioned a pick up truck, is because I find it horrible for people to buy those useless ugly looking box type cars. That's my opinion. My post about the pick up truck is related to the OP's question. He wanted suggestions of types of cars that is useful to move stuff around and be comfortable to drive. Now I don't know if it is actually comfortable to drive with.
If the OP doesn't like pick ups then fine no problem with me, yet he didn't post anything yet about it.
Like you said dumbo, everyone has their own opinions, very true, it would be stupid to think otherwise. Yet I don't see how goseki could benefit from your post about liking sedan and roadsters.
Everyone has an opinion about different cars, some might swear by box type cars because they love em, others like me can't even stand looking at one, yet alone drive them...

Lol at you European lot. I'm an American and I doubt I'd be able to live without a pick-up. I don't have one just so I can jack it up and go off roading and show my guns off in the rear window with my "Get R'Done" bumper sticker... I use it for just about everything from loading up supply at my local Home Depot to helping my friends move. Also... It's hard to keep my tools in the trunk of my car without my wife getting pissed off that there is grease all over her stuff...
Also... Da F are you talking about BloodyBlade? The Cube is a disgrace to the car industry? Explain?
