Get moving to high ground...

Edit: CNN says it was an 8.8 quake, not 7.9

Nah, just make sure you watch your local channels. CNN does say that there's a Tsunami watch for Hawaii, but your local news will have the most up-to-date information for sure.

Watching that on the news right now.

RIP to those who have died so far =/

They showed a mall and a car port on-top of the mall and the water was filled up to the car port so everyone in the mall is now underwater...

Sadly, I see more heavy Earth Quakes like this coming again, Japan has had a lot of heavy Earth Quakes so far.

Wouldn't be surprised if the San Andreas Fault burst soon too.

Good Luck Japan my heart is with you guys!

Major Earthquakes like this come every 5-10 years. Last one was 2004 in Indonesia.

Well I mean the past few days it seems they have had a few 6.0s 7.0s..from what Iv heard.

Never a good thing with Earth Quakes, not really the shake that is the bigger devastation, but the Tsunamis.

In this case, yes, the Tsunamis will be the worst part, Japan actually builds their buildings very well just for earthquakes. Impossible to protect against a tsunami though.

Watching the tsunami move inland on the farm area is just... wow... seeing buildings and cars and stuff pulled along as if they're insects in a stream basically.

There's been aftershocks in the range of 7+ as well, so those are creating even more tsunamis. I'm not the praying type (and this actually affirms that even more...) but I wish the best for all people affected.

Mirosuke, if you haven't found out, Hawaii is in the watch stage, and they were saying that basically means that there's a couple hours before any tsunamis hit it, so you'll have plenty of advance warning. Keep your radios and news channels on, and don't go to bed til it's all over.

Yeah, I'm aware, thanks. There was an Earthquake in Chile with a magnitude above 9, and there was a warning for a huge wave coming toward Hawaii, at the end nothing really happened at all. This time is Japan which is pretty much a neighbor country for Hawaii... I didn't hear any alarm for tsunami warning atm. Probably soon...

@EVGA WTF.....

It was just announced on CNN that Hawaii has an official warning, and that it's supposed to get there at 2:59 A.M. (Hawaii time).

Thank god for the one that was approaching the shore did not make it, it sorta died out it seems.
Gotta remember, Japan is sitting on about three different plates if I am not mistaken.

No idea how much practice you have with evacuation for such a thing, but keep safe. Same goes for any other SRFer that might be affected.

Those poor people, the world is falling apart :(

I can't bear to watch any live feed, even those pictures are too much for me to bear. Such destruction, I'd rather plead ignorance to it than be faced with the reality of it all. I feel sorry for anyone involved. Make sure you stay safe Miro.
