I'm on Bloodiron EU, but I might change realm as my friend doesn't want to play on a PvP realm.
Word of warning - Do not play on Whitefall. It's the most populated server and has queues 24/7.

What I did was look on the official forum and pick a realm with a "High" population in game and a decent amount of activity on the forum. I didn't want the highest pop. realm but also didn't want one with 10 people online at peak.
Anyway...
With Ultra graphics, Rift gimps my PC. Probably on account of me only having 2GB RAM, so I just ordered 8GB which will be here on Monday!

I think I should update my RAM some time too...I got 4 GB, but its been enough for me for long time, 8 GB just sound double as much as it is ^_^ Oh cheese server maintance, oh well gotta chores to do. PS. Im playing on Cinderon, its PvP server, wasn't high populated but not low either.

I was well overdue a ram upgrade anyway. Using a single stick of 2GB DDR2 that I've had for like years. Everything in my PC has been upgraded in the past year except that.

Having too much fun! Also, I recommend making a bank alt, since all gathering professions will have a ´second´ set of items you can gather, but you wont need for a specific profession(i.e. weaponsmithing+mining, you mostly wont need the sunstone/opals, but they sell for a pretty penny on the AH)

One thing is sure, dont go to Cloudborne(PvP) unless you wanna meet russians 24/7, I've actually never seen players working so hard to become the nr.1 as russians. They're crazy.

I almost made that mistake... Checked out the shard forum, saw all the bitching about Russians, and the backed slowly away. So yeah. Riftblade Warrior is fun, but the survivability is shit at lower levels. I was thinking of making a cleric healer or Bard and doing some instances but I don't know yet. Still waiting on my slow ass friend to make his mind up about the realm

Tell him to choose between Whitefall PvP or Blightweald PvE, seems to be the most populated servers. I think Blightweald is still there.

Ah, so much has happened to me today, I joined a guild it only has around 15 members but growing, hopefully. I was running around Freemarch because of zone wide invasion couple times and enjoyed it, completed a lot quests andstarted doing some crafting. Went to Iron Tomb and got some nice stuff from there, and i earned around 7 or 8 achievments today. oh and ofc I got my mage to lvl 20 I really hope Trion will have somekind of Hall of Fame when it comes to achievment points, and databse would be nice also

It would be a very nice addition to the community. I would prefer an official one though instead of a third party one, for obvious reasons. Haven't had much time to play. I got my Warrior to level 18 and I started a Bard with my friend which is currently level 11. Not sure if I like it though. It's fun but it's basically 2 keys to kill shit.

They have said that they will release a armory, but not until they feel like it's right, they wanted to focus on the actual game for now and make addons like that later on. Hopefully they add an option that you can remove your characters from the armory for those who want to keep their gear and specs secret.

I'm on Whitefall since headstart, and the queue's are slowly going down now to about 300-400 (little under 2 hours mostly) at peak times. Up until noon there's no queue, and from about midnight - 2am ish the queue is gone too. The server is great, many top notch competitive guilds and world pvp is amazing so far. We have 2 big russian guilds, 1 on either faction But they're alright people actually, I actually admire their teamwork and effort. I'm currently playing bard in my guilds premade team. So much fun I'm just running around controlling a bit with my offsouls and just rocking my guitar and buffing hahaha.

Bump!
That was beyond epic...
I am taking it easy in the game and leveling slowely. Doing some pvp, leveling my professions ect.
Anyway, I'm currently level 27. I was doing some quests, then I get stunned and notice a level ?? rogue hitting me. I think to myself "If I'm going down, I'm going down fighting." So I was around half health after the first attack... Kiting the rogue around, keeping my DoTs on him...
Turned out that it was the rogue who went down.
Dear Trion,
Please, DO NOT nerf me.
Regards, Riftblade Warrior.

hey guys
Just bought this game. Loving it so far.
But i have some questions. I had to pick a shard, did a little of research but since i wanted to play I might have not done enough. So i went with a PVP shard since it seems a lot more fun, but what about the 'role play' thing? I went with a shard with no role play, so how does the 'role play' affect the game?
Also, what are those collections books for?
Also, I'm lvl 7 right now, and I still saw nothing about those 'rifts'. When you can start doing them? How
Last question for now, I didnt choose a profession yet. They are really useful? To make gold i guess? Any prof better than others? For warrior example.
Thanks!

"Role Play" is for those who wish to stay in character constantly and talk like their character would, etc. I don't think most mmo players are role players. If you don't know what Role Playing is, I doubt you'll regret not being on a roleplaying server. I started encountering rifts regularly around level 10'ish. Open your map, the swirly icons in random places on the map are rifts. If you hover over them, they'll indicate the level of mobs you can expect there. The number of rifts open at a time are mainly dependent on the number of other players of a similar level in the zone. Professions - you can go whatever you want. Some mesh better than others. Armoursmith + Mining + Butchery works together. Weaponsmith works too. Or you could go Artificer + Mining + Foraging. There are many options. I'm not sure there are a lot of opportunities to make a lot of money off the professions right now. Auction Hall is pretty flooded on my server so prices are quite low. Runecrafting seems to have the most opportunity to make money. Welcome to a very fun game!

Can you go back to every area as you level? Like for artifacts, can you go back to the first areas of the game to search for them later on or you are locked to high level areas? Oh and i have another question, is it worth it to spend the 10$ extra for collector? I think you get extra space in bag + that mount with 60% speed. I didnt bought it but you can still upgrade your version for 10$

You can walk around the map freely as you will, even the opposite faction side and do achievements there as you want. About the price...its just 2 extra space in your bag (Highest ammount of space you can get without buying anything specia is 22) and you can buy 60% speed mount with 2,5 plat.

Ok so i take it its not really worth it?
