and the happenings of the past few days confirm my statements. it seems like no one talkes about the earthquake and tsunami anymore. everybody seems to have forgotten all the victims. since the nuclear problem became a real threat and could possibly become a threat for other countries, everyone is talking about that because it concerns them and their safety. Why do you always spew cock-sure bullshit? Yes the earthquake and tsunami are terrible, but if there are total melt downs, those that survived will suddenly find things even less hopeful. Sure losing homes and wallowing in disease is terrible, but they may end up dying from radiation poisoning too. It isnt that people forgot the earthquake and tsunami, its that they may well have been just the beginning of a serious of terrible events to befall these people. Things can escalate to the point that this isnt even close to over for a while. Im sure everyone around you can learn a valuable lesson on morality and having a sensitive conscious. What is it you are doing to help the situation again?? You probably cant answer that because of problems in translation right? get off your pedestal and stop looking down your nose at everyone.

Of course if they live in peace and got no disaster, there is no reason to 'care' about them. How illogic is your reasoning. Some may forgotten, but not all. Disaster, earthquake happen all the time. People die, new babies born. The cycle repeats every century. You can't live and worry about them all the time. Disasters never stop, you need to move on and look at the future.

I swear to god I knew you would be the first one to say something about my comment. It's like you're a sh!tty fly waiting for me to shit so that you can fly around it. And I actually still have a little problem with translating, but it seems you have a little problem with understanding. I wasn't talking about the Japanese people, but about the rest of the world. The Japanese people have every right to be as concerned as they want about the possible nuclear threat. but we (rest of the world) should focus on how help Japan in the best way we can. It's true that this nuclear disaster may become a very serious threat, but until that time it's best to focus on the victims and the people that are missing. I am sure that the Japanese government is doing everything it can to prevent a nuclear disaster. It doesn't help the Japanese people one sh!t if we keep on worrying about that, because we can't do sh!t about it. It seems most politicans and almost the entire media are now concerned with the nuclear threat when in fact they need to focus on how to help Japan the best after the devastating earthquake and tsunami. There are still thousands of people missing and hundreds of thousands of people without a home. And if you want to know what I actually did to help Japan, i'll tell you gladly. I donated 75 euro's together with my dad to the helpfund for Japan. I actually find that more productive than to spam on Facebook/Twitter about how horrible I find what happened and that I wished I could anything.

Goku is where it's at
ONT:
Is japan downplaying the radiation threat, or are we overcautious. I think in these kind of situations, you can't be overcautious

a they are downplaying it, but not really. they arent telling their citizens to stay as far away as every other country is telling their citizens in japan to stay away from the sites. they are saying like 20 miles is ok, but america an other places are encouraging 50. they have withdrawn ground forces to air lift water in until its cool enough to get the cooling system working again. something like that.

My household is currently planning an evacuation, could get a lot more serious. I live in southern California and tbh if I lived in Hawaii or Japan I wouldn't be sticking around.

Maybe some people give a sh!t now because ..oh let me see... Japan just had a motherfking 9.0 earthquake and a tsunami. Complete nuclear meltdown is also a possibility. (Partial for now, thankfully) Maybe some people are just concerned for other human beings because they are in a dire situation. They might not have cared before (for whatever reason they should care) because lack of media coverage or other preoccupations. The fact of the matter is a 9.0 earthquake is a big damn deal and people should be concerned. Hopefully that concern is enough to get people to actually do something about it.
And I've seen plenty of coverage on Japan's earthquakes, the Tsunami, and the victims - not just the nuclear reactors. But of course the nuclear reactors are going to get more coverage. I mean come on - its a potential threat that could rival Chernobyl (From what I've heard - don't quote me on that) and victimize a multitude of other people. Why wouldn't they talk about something that concerns one's own safety?
