About to give a speech

In 3 hours I'm giving a speech to about 500 people... in a different language...
Any tips for not sucking/not being nervous?

Only tip i can give you, is to look right above the listeners, then they feel like you're actually performing to them instead of being stuck on the paper with your nose.

Heh, one would think you'd have a lot of experience by now;... but yea just jack off shortly b4 speech. Will make u so damned relaxed your a that u wont feel nervous.

People in the audience do not notice all the small mistakes you are making, so don't get frustrated if you slip up.

Seriously. the difference between a good speech and a bad one (aside from content) is confidence level. People can tell the difference. don't say um.

be holding a pen and do not be afraid to speak your mind, have a simple plan of how it'll go in your mind and before you get in close your eyes and visionalize the first 4 mins

i have it in front of me on a podium, i just feel like ill stumble and stuff lol because almost my whole grade and their parents are watching

What language will you be giving the speech in and to what kind of audience? Just curious. Also if you are from up north and it's Spanish... GL

Think of it like this. College it gets worse! So it's best to do it up now and get use to giving speeches. Go in like a BAMF and show them how savage you really are! For future advice: I found it easier using power point presentations for speeches since you can direct the audience focus towards the projection vs yourself. However, I'm sure it's too late for that now so just wing it dude who cares what anyone else thinks? If you start to lock up on something skip it and formally address it later as if it was no biggie. Hell, look at Obama when he gives a speech... So yeah, relax, breathe like others have said, and if you got some herb take a hit before hand.
