save money? hmm... you have to buy the box and probably software or updates... then because your sharing all that power you are likely to get the cores burning out a lot faster then a normal pc would (roughly 4 years under much use)
then there is heat, a normal computer case wouldnt take the strain of a computer running over 80% processing power all the time (think of colleges running applications all the time from 9-5 every day) so.. we need cpu fans and pro heat sink (rather then the crappy stock) and... probably water cooling at a minimum with extraction fans to keep the computer clean, dont want it going down through dust alone do you... then a HDD fan because god forbid if that thing crashed!
what else... im pretty sure u cant open the same file at the same time? will need a hell of a hdd to fit stuff on it, and if your thinking of getting 30 or so computers on the go, you may need solid state.
meh i could go on

yeah...no. i mean yes it would work for kids who only use browsers and such on their computer. otherwise no way an "entry" level computer could handle more than 2,3 people.

One beefy server could handle several hundred word-processor-using kids at a school. This tech has been around for awhile. If not specifically this, virtual desktop / user spaces on a central server are quite common. We have a central Sun Unix box at our uni for all the CS major student accounts / user spaces.

I think its an awesome idea but yes it has been around in other forms. I can see people who run an Internet cafe business wanting this. I think as long as you don't attached 30 of these devices to one PC it'll be fine. Maybe 10 devices per PC would work for simple stuff like web browsing and checking e-mails.

So if an entery level PC has a dual core at maybe 2-2.6GHz? PC38500/PC25300? can run 30 virtual computers.
Mine with a quad 3.0GHz, PC312800, and deticated GPU I could run what? over 100?
Just make an OS that can support multiple remote users. Would probably be much more simple.

this isn't really mind blowing "lol" worthy stuff guys, its pretty damn common, my university has two labs set up like this, not with this "ncomputing" shit but its the same idea.
