Hey guys,
I'm having trouble with my standby indicator on my television. It's a Samsung LE32C530. When I turn it off, a red light stays on, and I can't get it to turn off. Can anyone share their experience with me? Suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
marijnz0r

Easy! Unplug it. Then it will 100% turn off.

the light comes on to tell you it is in standby. it wont go off until you take it out of standby or unplug it.

marijnz0r I had a Samsung TV with a similar issue. Turns out, some of the Samsung televisions can only be on stand by mode when not turned on, so that might be the case with yours as well. You could just choose to unplug it when you leave or go to sleep if it concerns you.

Some televisions turn off by pressing the power button on the tv ( manually of course ) and go on standby by closing it with the remote .

Yes, that standby mode exists so it doesn't take a long time for the TV to start, it's a gift, don't fret about it

You could just choose to unplug it when you leave or go to sleep if it concerns you. The TV can't be put off indeed. I will have to take the plug from the electricity. Thought there would be a better solution, but if it isn't known on SRF, there isn't I guess. kkthxbye

I have also a samsung flat tv. and the standby power is always on when its plug in. It only goes out either unplugging it or by switching on the TV.
that's why I think that this is just a troll.

Same here, pretty sure every LCD tv has that. No more big buttons like the good old CRT lol It's always on standby here, or well it was... nowadays I turn of the power when I leave for school (during the week, home in the weekends blabla).

Yeah I can't speak in regards to a Samsung TV specifically, but all 3 of our LG LCD TV's have an option that allows you to turn off the standby light when you turn the TV off. I'm sure if you play around in your settings a bit you'll be sure to find such an option.

I have a Samsung TV and when I first got it, I wondered how to turn the red light off too. Not to the extent that I made a thread on SRF about it though.
