Disrupting class is probably in the student code of conduct and being sent home is probably the consequence. The real problem here is; why were his shoes disrupting class?

It says in the article actually.

Quote:
He says boys are allowed to wear heels at Riverview -- unless students are paying attention to the shoes instead of class.

I meant that more in the way of, "why were the students paying attention to the shoes". But that doesn't really need to be answered, we all know why, it just says more about the students than the school.

Oh, haha yeah. I admit I'd be distracted thinking "wtf is this kid doing, trying to get beat up?"

Sending him home is the least that can be done , At least he won't wear it again in public (at school at least) .

He didn't find his shoes in the morning so he wore a high heel ?

I would prefer to go to school with slippers than a high heel (lol) .

Why not?
Well, I think the principle made a good decision. And It is the school's responsibility to keep him safe.

It's actually a form of protest. It's called "Walk a mile in her shoes" and the cause of it is to raise awareness for rape, buuuuuut I don't think he was doing for that cause :P

Why were they even allowed in the first place? Not on the basis of personal choice, but in that of OH&S. When I was at school we needed to wear closed-topped black leather shoes. Wearing anything other than that was a breach of our OH&S laws. Considering the environment of a school (well my school, anyway) I could see someone tripping over every 3 seconds with heels on, not the safest thing ever.

Some schools don't have a strict dress code. My high school's dress code was pretty much this: "Anything goes as long as it does not cause a distraction in the classroom." Shorts/skirts must hit the knee. No unnatural hair coloring. The end.
