Pro headset & 60 euros? Not happening. It's very simple.
That said, don't get #2.
/topic
edit: I can't suggest anything decent for that price personally, sorry. I bought the sennheiser PC350's and will never turn from Sennheiser ever again.

like I said, I'm using a 5 euro headset and I can hear the footstepts and their direction quite good. if you want a good one, I'd suggest looking on marktplaats. you can buy new ones at a much lower price than the retailprice.

I hate headsets, the microphone is so annoying. I use headphones and a 3 euro microphone. I love my headphones, and I think they're reasonably priced nowadays. I use Sennheiser HD215, and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. I think it's in your price range.

Sennheiser HD 228 here, got earbuds from Sennheiser aswell, both are great quality.
On Topic: you should be able to hear footstep directions with pretty much any headset if that's all you care about, if you want good sound aswell i'dd simply go to a local audio/media etc. store or so, try some on for yourself... perhaps bring your own mp3, you should usualy be able to plug it in.

I use Astro's, other good ones are tritons and turtlebeaches. (these three brands are used by pretty much every youtuber I watch). But then again they play on consoles so they need the dual channel (game sound and chat through same line), I got the idea you play on pc but I'm not 100% sure xD

I've had Fatal1tys for years and they still work like new. Good quality and the price is more than reasonable these days.

I don't understand why people associate quality with being able to tell direction. Does no one remember playing counterstrike on $10 yellow plastic speakers and still being able to know where people are?
Better quality is nice to have but it's only going to improve the experience, not your skill.

Better quality is nice to have but it's only going to improve the experience, not your skill. I wasn't able to tell where people came from when I played cod without headset on my xbox lol o.O

"Pro" headsets I lol'd I used a $15 headset from walmart for a few years until I broke a few of them. *Gets up wire rips* Son of a.. *One hear stops working* mother fu... *One hear stops working again* Well time to get a better headset. I think I had 3.. maybe 4. I don't remember. If op cares I'm using Gamescon 777. It's a comfy headset that I paid $50 for. Very flimsy when you uhh.. make it wider.. I don't know how I can explain how it's flimsly. Though I've had it for about 6 months now and it's been fine for me. Having a 'pro' headset doesn't mean jack. I bought this because I was fed up having a cheap headset. Difference between that $15 one and my $50 one? Uhh.. comfyness. There's no difference between mic quality(afaik people telling me over vent) and the sound quality.. uhh I don't know. Yeah mine does come with a USB sound card to enable 'surround sound' but it's all a gimmick. It's a neat thing, but I don't use it. Though if you want a real suggestion I suggest you going to /g/ on 4chan. They can suggest you good headsets. Then again the thread might just end up with everyone arguing with each other. Though most will say buy a headset and a desktop mic. dom wrote: I don't understand why people associate quality with being able to tell direction. Better quality is nice to have but it's only going to improve the experience, not your skill. Because I'm a bad consumer and would buy this headset

Steelseries is indeed good. If you're looking for a good headset for music, you should check out this one: It's called Sony MDR XB500 (or XB700 for the larger one). It should cost $50 It is EXTREMELY good, and the bass is just awesome. You should at least go try it somewhere - if possible. 4 of my friends bought one on our school trip to Berlin because it was so freaking good compared to the price Oh, in case you haven't noticed by looking at the picture, the headset is extremely soft, which makes it even better to wear for a long time!
