I kinda like lulsec, lol.
I mean, most of what they do is kinda funny.

I doubt this will end in a war between anonymous and lulzsec, as it seems none of them are interested in that.

Why don't these groups do something epic like wipe clean the databases of some of our major banks and credit card companies....Can you imagine the carnage when banks and credit card companies can't bill anyone because they have no information to reference?

Anon seems to ddos only..using LOIC. LulzSec seems to do injections and takes information when they can (though sometimes it doesn't look like they know what they're doing) on top of ddos'ing. Both seem to be relying on some simple scripts but lulzsec does a bit more indepth 'hacking'.

I really wonder what kind of stuff the absolute top hackers are capable of. Could they get into the pentagon? Access nuclear level information? Or do they already work at the pentagon?
Sky seems the limit when it comes to this.

You do realize anon are not 4chan?
and anybody using LOIC is not a hacker.
LulzSec just seems to be a bunch of script kiddies.

I'm fairly sure any serious black hat, or any hacker for that matter, will remain hidden.

This might sound selfish, but everything they do is funny until they hack video games server. Just let us play broskis. :(

Also what I don't get is how Wikipedia classifies them as Gray Hat. How are they even close to neutral?

EDIT: Actually Gray Hat does fit them. They've actually warned the British Health Service that they had flaws on their systems.

Where "Anonymous" = anybody over the internet.. It's completely doable. Sooner or later someone will get fed up and figure out where Lulzsec [if he has any] and his buddies live at. That is if before the government has enough with this and suddenly it's possible where anonymity doesn't exist on the internet anymore.

Yes I'm aware but when they plan DDOS's they gather people mainly from 4chan to aid and they follow like sheep.

Lulzsec just posted on twitter that they are teaming up with Anonymous for operation #AntiSec.

War is open against all the governments, apparently

Most likely, but does it matter?
Take from their twitter:

Quote:
Hacker mentality is that the 1337est hack causes the most damage. I argue that the simplest hack embarrasses the target more and thus wins.

in fact, if you overkill a company with 1337 when hacking it, they'll just churn out a press release about "highly sophisticated intrusion".

SQL injection followed by merciless mocking. The target company is trapped in a corner with nowhere to scramble with damage control. #lizard

The only differance between a network security administrator and a hacker is a pay check. No doubt goverments would pay top dollor for the best hackers.

I wanna watch a good documentary or something about this. Not lulzsec but like solo ninja's doing something epic, getting busted, signing a deal with fbi and telling pro story.

Anon & LulzSec seem to have very different reasoning for their 'hackings'. If I remember correctly there were many anon DDOS's that were related to somewhat moral viewpoints (freedom of speech being a big one). LulzSec openly says they do it for the hell of it. Don't know where this will go..

Should add on the time line about the kid who got caught and who if he had any information at all on his computer tracing back to LulzSec, could produce huge results against LulzSec.

For now, I think this is all pretty lulz. Cyber warfare isn't a new concept, but it's still entertaining.

As long as they don't fck with my WoW account or bank account, I'm ok.

all the hacks are epic and all, but i dont see the point of releasing contact info of normal peoples from random websites/companies? ~,~ Atleast anonymous try to help causes that they think are right.

Pretty much yea. Can you defend against the unknown? You have to know how to beat your own security so you can better defend it. So technicly speaking they are hackers but just defend against others.
