Furthermore, it sickens me that there has been this horrible TRAGEDY in Norway, with the bomb and the shootings, at a SUMMER CAMP! Yet, everywhere i look, FB, Twitter, news. Everyone is like "Oh, Amy Crackhouse died. R.I.P, such a waste."

No, **** YOU. (not a direct f-you to you guys in this thread)

She did that to herself, and she took her own life, in a matter of speaking. Sure, she might have had a good song here and there, but when you are NOT PHYSICALLY ABLE TO PERFORM due to your OWN INTOXICATION, and people are there trying to make you better, which you refuse and you end up dying, you loose the right to call upon public sympathy and admiration.

The people in Norway, those are the ones who we should be talking about, who we should be saying R.I.P to, those are the lives that were taken short.

Talk about being a bit ignorant... You act like shit like what happen doesn't happen any where else in the world. Like there not people getting killed in Darfur each day, and living in fear and aren't affected, like the famine in the Horn of Africa isn't important (I mean over 10,000+ people have died so far due to it). That there isn't a problem with the mass rape going on in the DR Congo. Basically while what happen in Norway is beyond terrible and I get why you're angry that some dumb crack addict is getting so much attention over her death, there are things going on in this world which gets almost no attention and yet are so inhumane and disturbing.

@the.unseen,

No, i agree with you, and applaud you on calling out my ignorance, it's the exact thing that i aimed to point out with my post in others, the world is farked up in many places, but because of the way Society works today, we don't hear about a lot of the horrors going on in the world. What i wanted to point out, is when something so shocking happens like this, and right in the public's eye, it saddens me that people will concentrate on a Woman who was pretty much killing herself. So yeah, this is not a retaliation post towards you, just an explanation.

@OruchiSavage,

Not sure who your post was geared towards, if it was the.unseen, then yes its understood that a lot more is happening that can be said, if it was geared towards me, then see above.. Oh, and yes, i am Colombian, the FARC hits close to home, the home where i've lost family members to it.

Yea, I no what you meant I just kind of went off a bit when I really shouldn't, but I agree the fact that CNN has her as a main story is pretty saddening, and it comes to the point that it gets infuriating. The sad fact is that http://english.aljazeera.net/ has probably the best coverage on almost everything going on, and talks about important stories while it's okay to other News places to focus their attention to celebrities, but good news station like aljazeera will never get the size of BBC, CNN, or Fox, because people think that because it's a channel ran from a Muslim country, and people will continue to idolize celebrity deaths because sadly because dumb news networks will continue to allow them to be idolize, instead of putting out important information. I am kind of ranting and went off topic on the whole subject... I blame this damn sleeping medicine.

^CNN and BBC both have Norway as their main stories. Didnt bother checking Fox news because no one other than rednecks and tea partiers take them seriously.

People will obviously care more about people that they (kinda) know dying than someone who they never have known. Would you not care about someone you have met or idolize rather than some random guy in Africa?

Not saying Winhouse deserves any more respect than all the other deaths, but she probably had more people that knew her and idolized her, which is why they would care about her death more than some others.

Wrong, CNN has Amy Winehouse as the top story, BBC is kind of mixed and has them both as the main story. Fox news (which I despise so much, actually has the Norway incident as their top story.

That's the sad thing is people idolize these people who make millions upon millions making music and doing other shit instead of the person who walk mile a day to go to work or school just to get an education or get paid (which ends up being like a $1 a day even though they work about 14-16 hours). I don't know about you but I'd idolize the person who lives like that and doesn't give up and lives in the worst conditions in the world and yet have the strength to not give up. The sad thing is those people probably idolize us for being able to work 8 hours a day and have vacations an not have to worry about the chance of dying any second due to warfare, disease, and the likes. And it's sad that these people idolize our way of life and work so hard to just live and yet people like Amy Winehouse make million which could save so many of those peoples lives and yet with all the things she could have done with that money that could of helped so many people, she decides to become addicted to drugs and when the people who idolize her tried to help her get better with thing like rehab, she basically told them to **** off. I can tell you one thing... Amy Winehouse probably could give two shits if one of her fans got hurt. So much for being an idol... Dying at 27 after become a crack addict and refusing too get help.

she smokes 20 cigarettes a day. I'm not saying that as bad as shooting up but when she inevitably does get some kind of cancer or it destroys her voice she was asking for it just as much as winehouse.

No in CNN had Norway as top story and still has a whole section dedicated after a week. You probably checked right after Winehouse died because that would be "breaking news" but Norway was still the top story.
Theres a reason why people care more about celebrities, because they feel like they know them and have somehow changed their life. Id guess your favorite singer/athelete/actor/comic has affected you more than some random guy in India, so would you not care more if that celebrity died more than if the random guy in India?
Say your favorite soccer player, that makes 250k a week. Do you not idolise him more than a surgeon that you dont know who saves 10 lives a day earning 250k a year? And if you are one of the 10 lives he saves one day, would you not idolise him more than a doctor working in Africa saving thousands of lives a day while living in horrible conditions and hardly earning 250k in 10 years.
So yeah dont be hypocritical

You're ignorant if you don't Idolize Doctors and surgeons more then you Idolize a soccer player and someone like Amy Winehouse. And this is what is wrong with modern society.

You are being hypocritical. Do you idolize Dr. Hou? Thats my doctor, but you probably dont know him, so you dont idolize or give a shit what happens to him.

Stop. being. a. hypocrite.

I can tell you I care more dearly for a doctors life then some singer who sings about her refusal to go to rehab only to die by overdose. I might not know your doctor, but i can respect him more then I can respect Amy Winehouse.

Wow, you are really stupid.
Im not comparing amy winehouse and a surgeon, I'm using them as examples. Have celebrities not influenced your life more than some random guy on the street. Fcking hell.

And I dont know why you linked that article, but I can bet you have wasted a hell lot more $$ on your favorite music than you have donated to that group.
