The average age of a wowplayer is 30 according to the data I linked below. Granted a survey doesn't say everything, but it's better than nothing. (2010 data)
In 2005 the average age was 28.3 but females were older (32.5 vs males at 28)

That's what I'm saying .curve. You don't offer a valid argument when you throw in things like "re-skinned WoW" or "You saw how GW1 turned out". I wouldn't care that much about this thread if you wouldn't claim stuff you didn't even read about. The game is nothing like WoW. :giveup:

Honestly from reading the GW2 Design Manifesto, nothing seems to stand out. They claim that they're going to offer a whole new MMO experience unlike any other. The same as every other MMO recently has done. They're changing combat, but it will still end up with the same results. There will be certain classes/specs/races/etc that will outperform others and those compositions will be what are chosen for maximum efficiency.

It also seems like they're making the lore a bigger part of the game. Cool, that's awesome. Have you ever read WoW's lore? It's so in depth. Not really doing anything new there other than adding a Mass Effect type deal where your choices effect your personal storyline.

I dunno, I really don't see any new features that WoW hasn't done. They're trying to improve upon a couple of WoW's features, but I feel they're going to over complicate them. Gamers like their stuff simple and to the point.

Where do you get that without playing the actual game?

One of GW2 selling point is that every profession can play every role thus bringing down the "best composition" to a bare minimum. We have no healer class. Every profession has some kind of way to heal himself, but he has to use it at the right moment. Plus, I don't get your argument anyways because we see the very same thing on WoW.

I'm also a big fan of the lore in Warcraft. It's amazing and I've been following it ever since Warcraft 2. Thing is, WoW freaking destroyed the lore and made the story incoherent.

At the end of the day, it just seems that you're closing your eyes to other games just because you're used to WoW. Anything that offers something different than WoW ends up being "too complicated" for you.

I'll stop arguing because there's no point in convincing each other. I'll just wait for the game to be released and enjoy it. :sohappy:

Fair enough. To each his own I suppose. I will be curious about the player base statistics a few months after GW2 is released.

For me WoW is garbage....and that's my opinion...not fact...at the end of the day it all boils down to taste....You play what you love and don't play what you dislike....and that's not right or wrong..cool or lame....it's simply what you're into. No amount of statistics that WoW produced has changed my mind since it's inception...And I wont be trying to convince anyone to not play WoW either....
