Force Strategy says he's heard from confirmed sources that the public closed beta is coming out this week, probably wednesday or thursday, or in the last case friday.

That's diablo 2. Diablo 3 is going to have some fights that are more strategic when it comes to environment and other adpects.
Adding some strategic elements to the game won't change the fact that the core of the game remains a hack-n-slash. Sheeesh.
Hack-n-slash type of game, but not purely. It has the essence, but it's modified a little bit. In the trailers you could see some of the skills has no cooldown (same skill after 1 sec) but I saw in a PvP video, Wizard's Blink has a cooldown, and so others. Interesting.
also, 29 skills?! plus passive's ones wtf? Is this going to be online or what?
Yeah people are worried about the lack of skills, from level 30-60 all you get different are better items and trying out with the different runes and builds since you get free respecs.
We'll see, blizzard has done an amazing job on all their games so far, I'm hoping they'll do the same here.

Online always DRM so they can stop dupes and stuff because of the RMAH.
But http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator to see all the skills for each class, some have cooldowns. Also the runes are the highest level rune we get in D3 so we dont know how they scale on lower levels.
But all in all this game is looking mighty good, can't wait to play the witch doctor.

The rune skill system looks amazing. It's not like it gives your attack either +5% damage or +5% health; it completely changes the dynamic of the skill.
For example, the ancient spear skill can either become a single pull, aoe line pull, aoe pull, large heal, buff, or large DPS skill. While you only have 6 skills on you bar, each skill has 5 variants with very different dynamics.

Holy shit, so that means 29 Active skills multiplied by 5 variants equal to 145 types of active skills available per character. Kudos!

holy shit thats a ton of skill combinations per class. When you include the passive skills there should be tons of viable specs for every class depending on how you want to play. Here's hoping arena is just a throwaway thing for fun because theres no way they're going to balance this game on PvP terms.

That's because it's a friend and family beta (and press & media). Blizzard have said that they are stress testing though and they will also invite regular players when they need them. They said they will invite on-the-fly as they need them, when servers are stable etc.
Also, the release has been delayed to early 2012, opposed to the previous late 2011. I feel ok with it, it's going to allow them to polish the game, and the beta will be extended, so more chances of getting in for us.
Diablo series came first, and it's better. But they're pretty similar, I'm very curious to see how good Torch 2 is, Torch 1 was like Diablo with better but more childish graphics, 3 classes and a dull and repetitive gameplay.
Torch 2 has more classes and it's a huge improvement from Torch 1, but Blizzard is Blizzard.
I am bothered by the delay actually. To a point where I felt genuine anger when I read it. Been following the development for so god damn long now.... sigh.
Good thing there are a few games coming that will keep me busy. Also I will have moved out by the time D3 launches which means I'll have even less time

No, no and no. Because it's from Blizzard doesn't mean is "better. Of course, Blizzard is so known for their famous RPG's, but hey I enjoyed a lot Torchlight. It was even way better than Diablo 2. The graphics were great, nothing childish to me. If you compared with D3, D3 looked like 2D, while Torchlight was 3D already.
Pretty disappointed about the graphics are almost the same as the 1, on Torchlight 2 but the more extended classes and multiplayer engine is gonna be awesome.
Well if we look at Blizzard's history, the BC expansion for WoW was delayed as well from december to "early next year". and that was actually released mid Jan. Another title of Blizzard's was released in March though in the same scenario.

If it gives you a code just go to your blizzard account and put it in, other then that.
Once you log into your battle.net account and if you did get into beta, you should have a "Diablo 3 Beta" tab under your list of games to where you can go and download it. if they sent you any links hover over it and look at the url in the bottom left corner.
The bolded part should always work, never go to battle.net through any email you are skeptical about.
haha, thanks I knew it was too good to be true cause I didn't bother to try to get a beta key lol
The article says if it's from @blizzard.com. then it's from blizzard (though not necessarily).
To make sure:
