I live in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

prices for everything are usually cheaper than other countries, there's a lot of counterfeiting going on, so you'll be able to buy just about anything from blu-rays, dvds, xbox 360/wii games, music cds, etc for 1-5$. (yeah, we use USD as currency also)
there's a place called the Bahia where you can get almost anything for cheap, and you can always bargain for discounts.

people are mostly nice, if you say "buenos dias" (good morning) to almost anyone in the street, they'll reply back. if you're lost for example, you can roll your window and ask for directions, people will gladly help most of the time.

taxi cabs are cheap, you won't spend more than 10$ to get from one side of the city to another. a ride from my house to the nearest mall, which is like 10 minutes away costs me around 1.50$, usually 1$ if you ask nicely. some companies offer "VIP taxi cab" services which are usually higher in price but safer and more comfortable, you call them, ask them to pick you up wherever you are, and tell them where you wanna go, leave your phone # and they'll send you a cab right at the doorstep. they'll tell you the cost of your ride on the phone, and they're usually final prices (no bargains). DO NOT get into unlicensed cabs though, easy way to get robbed or kidnapped.

safety is a problem though, dont ever use your cellphone on the street, dont ever get in unlicensed cabs (easy way to get kidnapped/robbed), dont ever walk the city past 1 am alone (100% chance you'll get robbed/kidnapped/buttsecks'd)

tl;dr DON'T COME HERE, IT'S A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY AND YOU WILL DIE

vancouver... weather here is unpredictable. It would be raining/hailing for a couple mins and then the sun would come out.

Ottawa, it's the capital city so they put a decent effort into keeping it clean, the nightlife is average and our bus drivers like to make asses out of themselves. Also because I live near a college there are hipsters everywhere which is a bit of a bother.
