The reward for being a Master in alteration. I had to go find some fancy dagger in a dungeon and then use the dagger on a dead dragon for some special scales.
And now I have Dragonhide spell which reduces physical damage by 80% for 30 seconds - 45 with perks and around 90-100 seconds with the perk and dual casted but that requires a whopping 600 magicka. The other one was a 20+ seconds AoE paralysis spell, but I'm saving my gold so I didn't buy the tome.
Each school requires a quest to unlock their master spells and one of them is free as a reward.
This might be helpful. I've been looking for a perk reset command but there doesn't seem to be any. I didn't want to restart a new character so I had to settle with removing and adding individual perks:
Keep in mind that if you just want to move around the perk points, make sure you remember how many you should have at that level. The console command makes it possible to have all the perks if that's what you want or what you're trying to avoid.
Cheers. I added some points to 1 Handed weapons early in the game, so now I can finally move them to 2 Hand!
Got my fireballs to cost 16 magicko, gg ( adept level spell ). Doing Recovery, Destruction, and now Enchanting ( need to use console gold if you actually want to benefit from the last one ), looking into a 4th school atm since I have almost 10 unspent points.
Also what armor do you folks fancy ? Kinda undecided between Light and Heavy armor.
Last second thought but just realized that you can get free cast spells for 2 schools fairly easily with enchanting, that's cool.

I got married with one of the twins in the Companions after I finished their questline.
@Love
I wear robes on my mage. Most things I encounter with magebased enchantments are cloth and it take a high enchanting skill to be able to make them for light/heavy armour.
So I want to make a "Thief" based character. I've read the wiki and I should be investing in Alchemy, Light Armor, Lockpicking , Pickpocket, Sneak and Speech. None of them are "Offensive" skills?
I've been Dual Wielding so hopefully that's the right thing to do for a Thief based character. (I suppose Dual Wielding increases One-Hand?).

Those are just the skills that are under the Thief archetype, the same with the Warrior's Two-Handed, Heavy Armor, etc. You don't have to conform to any of these archetypes. You can go for a mage-thief combo and take Sneak, Lockpicking, Illusion, Conjuration, etc. Or you can go for some kind of an assassin build with One-Handed, Sneak, Archery, and maybe even throw Alteration in there.
You can do whatever you want in the game, as long as you're having fun.
I got to the big machine thing at the end, I put the cube in, spin it around. But I don't know what to do to activate it. I tried shooting spells and stuff but nothing.
So I decided to do my time and go to jail for stealing that one horse. I'm at the Solitude jail and I try to make a breakaway and I manage to leave the prison but of course I get killed by the Guards. Thing is everytime I respawn they kill me again.
What do?
P.S: I really don't want to load a previous save because it's like 30mins away from Solitude.
I'm trying to collect the dwarvin set, it's nice and looks badass all at the same time. I'm in this cave I forget the name atm and I think I could find some nice dwarvin gear. I have the helmet, bracers, and shoes. Does anyone know a good cave/store to find dwarvin gear?
Got conjuration, illusion, and alteration to 100, fairly easy to do so, I can make a quick legit guide to quickly maxing those if any1 needs it. Main thing I got from it was the ability to summon 2 of those fire elements, they are sweet, particularly in open terrain and cost less than 100 magick to summon.

Find a weak enemy and then either cast soul trap on it over and over again, or conjure and sheat bound weapons over and over again.
Illusion:
Keep casting fury on low enemies until you have access to muffle and then run around casting muffle. This goes really fast until illusion is 50 but then it slows down a bit.
Alteration:
Keep channelling detect life in a town, telekinesis on an object. Before you get those spells, I just refreshed my shield spells but that only seems to work when you're in combat.
Destruction and restoration for me are the harder ones to skill up. For destruction you need to hit/kill things and for restoration you need to heal when not at full health.
My steam friends list has people playing skyrim that never touched RPG's AFAIK. haha.
I'm currently spending my points in archery and so far I'm quite happy with it. There are a few perks spread across (in Sneaking there's a good one) that increase my damage too. The slowmotion perk (25%/50%) is absolutely brilliant and it works really well.
I'm probably going to go down destruction to grab fire damage and 2H casting, but other than that I'm just taking the useful perks all over the place. I will grab elven/plate/dragon scale armor in Smithing though.
Some points in Pickpocketing because you get +100 carry capacity on the third tier (right side) in that tree. Hmm don't think I have anything else. Quite happy with my character at the moment. I will probably continue down this path as well.
lvl 15 with 23 hours... my highest mastery is destruction with 56
I found a glitch (if you can call it that) that theres a spell called equilibrium which turns your hp into mp, you put that in one hand then healing into the other and rotate them and you lvl up restoration WAAAAAAY faster, but im too lazy to do this

Lvl 45 here now and btw regarding armor it isn't much of a question, heavy is the way to go, I literally just stand there and laugh when stuffs hits me.
Really sorry on this now way late "guide" but here is what I did:
For Alteration and Conjuration I found a golem and agro'd him, then just stood behind a wall and spammed oakflesh and bound sword. For Illusion I previously mentioned it but what I used was the spell muffle ( I spelled it wrong last time ), this one however I recommend you use on your travels rather than just sitting in one place spamming it as you don't need agro/to be in combat to level it up. You don't need to find a golem for the ones that require to be in combat, just find something that can't use ranged attacks and get on a rock they can't reach, in case this isn't apparent for some of you.
Some other easy ones would be armor and shield, you basically just find a wolf since they attack really fast and heal when needed. For shield you have another option, use god mode command ( TGM ) and shield bash targets with high amounts of health like giants ( right click and after the shield is up left click ). I maxed this all without using the instant win commands but I would still use TGM for the mana cost, is kinda silly to just be standing there waiting for mana anyways.
Recovery and Destruction can go eat shit and die, although recovery isnt that painful if you have max enchanting like I do, is just a matter of finding something that can't kill you and putting some tape on your mouse to hold healing down which I have't felt like doing ( combining restoration and armor lvling into a section is a good idea if you can sustain the heals or find something weak enough that can't oom you ).
I took care of lvling all of those before completing the winterhold chain ( merely an hour ago ) and unlocking master and higher spells, I am sure some of the previous suggestions by takolin will be faster with the use of higher level spells but this should do for those on their early hours.

Got the Storm Caller shout a couple of days ago. Tried it out inside the moment I got it. It didn't do anything special - just a loud shout and some fancy effects. With a 5 minute cooldown, I thought it was useless. Then I used it outside today just for kicks and holy shit it started storming. Not sure how that helps me but it's awesome.
My shouts don't work, I don't get it. Killed a bizillion dragons by now and still stuck with the one from the start and the one given by the shout monks.
Spoiler!
edit: nvm figured it out, you actually have to spend points in them, never payed attention to it.
way cool:

Mages don't wear heavy armour. And neither will my 2nd character after I'm done playing my mage.
I'm levelling enchanting but it's so slow. Making iron daggers, going to 3 different vendors to buy filled soul gems (yes I don't want to fill them myself as I'm lazy). Enchant dagger with a banish enchant and then sell them to 4 vendors (2 of them also sell soulgems). And then I wait 48 hours and repeat it.
Money wise I should make some profit but I bought 12 filled grand soulgems in the process of levelling so a big part of my profit went into that.
After I got my enchanting maxed, it's time to make my magicka free destruction set and then it's time to get my platinum trophy before I make a new character, but that might take a while. Finding all shouts and 50 skill books might take a while.
Am I the only one who dismissed her the moment I got her? Now she just sits in my house and I never asked her to do so.
I married her.
I married some bulky nord who I dumped in my house with Lydia and he now gives me 100 gold a day. And then 1 day he bugged out and became my stalker. I couldn't move 3 steps or make something at the forge or it would trigger his talk menu even if was at the other side of the town.
Mainquest: Done College of Winterhold: Done Dark Brotherhood: Done Stormcloaks: Done Dragon Priest Masks: Done Blackreach: Explored
Honestly, i don't know what to do anymore.
I'm level 27, and this game is just too easy, everything dies in 3 hits (I'm aso playing on expert, maybe i should try master?). It's like the developers didn't test any mid to high level game play, i rarely need to use a potion of any kind.
