I just got my bottom two pulled. Shit sucks. Apparently I have a high tolerance for pain.
I got laughing gas. Was not funny. I love anesthesia though.

Anybody else get theirs pulled? Or not even need to have them pulled?

Edit:
Ow. Alot. Not that it hurts a lot (It does) but it's a consistent horrid pain.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh dude I only had my bottom two. I would pray if I believed in a god.
Make sure you get your meds ASAP. Or at least before the anesthesia wears off.
Oh and make sure you grub out some delicious steak or something before the operation.

Hmm somebody explain, is it more painful than getting regular teeth pulled out? I had 4 pulled out before I got my braces and my mate got 6 out before he got his.

Dude, the wisdom teeth are the ones more difficult to extract. They are also buried deep in your mouth!! Figure it.

I had 4 of mine out when I was 15. It was really not that bad. I was half frozen and half under general anaesthetic. Apparently I told the dentist he had good drugs when he was pulling my teeth out.

I was eating solid foods the next day and I felt no pain at all, probably because I took all my meds.

I think a lot of people that are scared of it have never had it done.

I need braces, and I hope they can put under when they need to move some of my teeth around. Never, ever pulled a tooth out before, so if I need to, I would rather die than get my wisdom teeth out. I will make sure they give me enough anaesthetic to keep me asleep for a week.

Holy hell you did have good drugs. Even with my anesthetic I still felt a good deal during the operation plus I'm sore as hell right now.

Do you know what meds they put you on?

@Anybody wondering how they do it. I think they pretty much grind up your wisdom teeth then yank out all the pieces. The worst part for me was when he rubbed the holy hell out of where my tooth used to be to make sure everything was gone.

Getting any other tooth is isn't a big deal compared to this. Unless you're like dom and have no feelings.

Oh god... had 4 of them pulled out, was only numbed, and I have a gene in my body that resists to the numbness, so much that there is a special note in all my family's folder that we resist to numbness. Dumb guy didn't believe me, I felt the bottom one break in 6 pieces, shook my whole jaw, and I felt the upper gum being cut, and the tooth being pulled out. Thats not it. 2 days later I got a "dry socket" for the ones that don't know what it is: It is when the blood clot gets sucked out accidentally and the air comes into contact with the bone. I have never ever fainted in my entire life, not once (been somewhat close). When that happened I was in math class in high school, and I almost passed out it hurt so much.. Went back to the dentist he gave me some horrible tasting shit that I couldn't get rid of (even after eating, brushing my teeth 3 times, and used mouth wash...

I guess I consider myself somewhat lucky because even though it took him 1h30 minutes to get rid of my teeth, I didn't have squirrel cheeks after that... What did hurt though which I didn't expect, was my jaw, because I had my mouth wide open for 1h30minutes, ya believe me try to chew after that... GOOD LUCK

EDIT: Shomari, two top ones pulled them right off, but I had twisted roots.. He didn't see that on the x-ray so it felt like he was trying to rip my head off. He was red like a tomato, he had his assistant hold my head down on the chair and he was shaking he was trying so hard.

Two bottom ones he snapped them in 6 pieces and took them out one by one...

My dentist said that he might have to pull all of mine out, but it's not certain yet. There isn't too much space in my mouth for them, he said, but if they didn't annoy me or I didn't feel any pain, he would let them stay for now to prevent me from experiencing the pain of having them pulled out.

Although I didn't really want to, I agreed to have two removed, because on the x-ray they seems as if they were going to mess up things sooner or later.
My dentist has devoted his life to talking me into giving up the other two, but it's not going to happen. They looked fine to me and have never once bothered me.

Laughing gas? Doesn't that have a horrible smell?
They gave me anaesthetics through injections, and had the same little issue as Master_of_Puppets had.
I suppose I was lucky that I got another dose pretty quickly once I started to feel the cutting.
The dentist and I aren't on speaking terms so he figured if he wanted to keep doing his job with all 10 fingers, he had to do something about it.

I'm surprised many of you had them removed in pieces. I'm pretty sure they took mine out in one piece, but I was so annoyed afterwards I left immediately.
Other than that, I suppose it wasn't too much of a big deal. I was rewarded with awesome painkillers, and I saved them all for a time when I'd be in REAL pain, but they hit the best before date already.

I'm almost 26 years old, and my dentist keeps trying to convince me to have mine pulled every time I go in. Despite the fact that they don't bother me at all.

The reason why they had to break mine into pieces is because the 2 bottom ones was because they were going horizontally instead of vertically..................................

The laughing gas was fine. It was annoying at first having the gas blown in my face but I got used to it. Plus there were other things that were much more uncomfortable at the time...
Lol at you and your dentist.

You probably didn't have to have your teeth smashed to bits because I'm gonna assume they weren't deeply impacted.

And yeah for those of you whose wisdom teeth don't bother you I probably wouldn't get them pulled out. Unless you're like me and had your wisdom teeth 20,000 leagues under the sea gums. My teeth were pretty badly impacted so I kinda had no choice but to have them removed. And I still have the top two to go. :|

@Master_of_Puppets
I had the same issue. My wisdom teeth attempted to do parkour or something. I don't think my top one's are as bad but they still have to come out.

I'm keeping all 4 of mine. Instead, 4 molars that were in front of them got pulled because it gave them enough room and made it easier for them to come in, not to mention less invasive procedure, they didn't need to do actual surgery on my mouth. They give me no problems whatsoever.

i got all 4 of mine out about 2 years ago now.
(2 were in all the way, one was halfway in, one hadn't broke the gum at all)
at the time the thought terrified me. all 4 at once and i was worried about how 'out' i'd actually be.

i went under general anesthesia via pill. took it right before i left my house and was driven there/back by a friend. 5 minutes after taking it i was out.. i honestly barely can remember anything that happened until i was home with a bunch of cotton in my mouth bleeding all over the place.

shortly after that i went to bed for the entire day and woke up the next morning pretty sore but surprisingly fine.
the worst part was not being able to eat solids for a few days.. and the stitches tasted horrible and made my breath bad as well.

overall: scary in my mind. not bad in practice.

Removed in pieces? Bone? Rubbed the hole? So much pain?

:(

Thanks for the advice, I guess?

Didn't hurt at all for me. Anesthesia via IV for me. Asked me to count down from 100, made it to 98.

Got a frosty before I went home. Starting eating it then realized my tongue was numb when it all fell straight out of my mouth. Never really had any pain and all I took was Advil.

Originally had planned all 4 of them to be pulled since they were growing in weird (4years back). All but 1 are still pretty farked, and to this day haven't gotten them removed (insurance sucks balls).

The three that are fcked are misaligned: One's facing the tooth in front of it, and the other two grew in backwards, and outwards. The one that grew in fine was originally impacted, but it erupted fully through the soft tissue eventually.

Never had mine taken out but I did have 3 fillings done without anesthesia in another country before.

OT: My sister had to have her gum sliced open then the tooth broken first before being extracted, piece by piece. She managed but I can imagine hell.
