Well the quad core obviously gets higher scores so it actually helps. The 1gb extra ram is just sitting there maybe for the rare occasion you actually go over the 1gb o.O

But yeah the knowledge I got a quad core in my phone and a dual core in my laptop is just weird x)

Whether it's actually weird or not.. As long as it's hassle free and fast.. that's all that matters, right?

It's not linear, so no it isn't. RAM, however, is and therefore it's easier to say overkill on something like that.
