I just realized that England got away with murder lol...The Ukraine shot on gaol got cleared from just behind the goal line and the stupid goal line official didn't see it even though that's his job...
It happened to England though in the last world cup so I guess its karma.

No its not karma, because the ruled-out goal in the world cup was against some other team, not ukraine Im tired of this BS where FIFA is way too lazy/stupid/retarded to add instant replay or atleast, goal-line technology. Unruled goals, offside calls, dives..-_- Ofcourse the English found a way to justify Ukraine's disallowed goal while still calling foul on their disallowed goal in WC10

That would make the games too damn long and if it were used to check if there was a foul or a dive or whatnot, it would be like American football where the game is stopped every 5 seconds. But goal-line technology should be used. Much better than paying loads of money to a referee who just stands 90+ min staring at one place and even then doesn't see what he should have seen.

i can understand why they wouldnt want stop clock and instant replay for every foul as apparently thats not "traditional". But instant replay doesnt need to be for every foul - only major game changers like Offside that result in goals Disallowed goals Red cards, 2nd yellows Fouls in the penalty box
Those things would waste more time just looking at for like 3-4 seconds, compared to the usual players surrounding the ref and QQing on both sides forever.

i just want to get rid of the bullshit crying that these $200,000 a week players think is ok. i want to watch sport. i dont want to watch some guys crying their eyes out because they got their heel slightly tapped by accident whilst running.

Television companies wouldn't want stopped clock or instant replay though. Then they would never know when the game ends and it would suck to plan the programme.

^NFL and NBA both have stop clocks, and MLB (baseball) which can basically run on forever (like literally, they have no set time), all these sports are heavily commercialized in the US.. And usually theres like match reports that are cut off if sometimes theres Extra-time, penalties...

I love that the game is still rooted in tradition...I don't want to see the game become overly commercialized like most American sports....I don't want to see referees watching replays to make a decision...The game would last 2.5 hrs as a result. I am not sure about goal line technology either as I don't want to see the game paused because of some goal line technology malfunction...Football has always been a "pure" sport and I want to see it remain that way....
That being said there are some things I would love to see removed from the game....I can't stand to see these so called "professional" football players who've risen through the ranks via their talent, skills, years of training etc only to be diving and pretending to be hurt...conning the referee to gain an advantage.(I can't stand when some people call that strategy)... I think that type of behaviour is pathetic...What was all that years of training for? So you can grab on to the jersey of your opponent? or pretend that he hurt you? Is this where your talent is at?
So that leaves the question...How can these things be changed......Well.... placing a 4th and 5th official at the goal lines was a good idea...They just need to be more keen on their goal line duties...Adding a 6th official in the stands with a monitor who can see the game like the rest of us fans do on TV will help the referee on the field a lot if they can rely their take on a call very quickly to the on field officials...

nono, by goal line technology i do mean things like having an extra official who can review what we already see... nothing new or extra needs to be added... we have things like we see in tennis that could do a good enough job detecting if the ball was over the line or not.
video reffing who can choose what camera angle he wishes and use simple commands like rewinding pausing and highlighting areas with a microphone directly to the ref is EXACTLY the solution people want implemented.
for example... the time it would take to analyse who touched the ball last in a corner or goal kick situation can be reduced by having a ball at all times ready to be brought onto the field by a ball boy at an instant, ball goes over goal line, ball boys run to the corner flag with a ball at hand. ball boys dont even get payed, theyre usually gifted out as presents to friends of the club or raffles or what ever.
the time it takes joe hart to kick the ball from a goal kick is much much longer then: ball goes off, ball boys at the ready to give ball to goal keeper or place on corner spots whilst video ref gives the decision to the ref.

Goal line technology, as it is used in hockey, would be better.

He is a cocky bastard...He's very skillful and talented but I think his "bloated headed" behaviour sometimes impedes his performance and potential..

People always call him out on his arrogance but let's face it ; he backs it up most of the times.

doesnt need to be like that. messi is a better player all around and a team player. he isnt arrogant, or big headed and he is constantly thinking of others. ronaldo needs a good team to feed him opportunities, messi creates them.

Not true Penfold. He plays his role just fine, he's not a medium field player, he doesn't have to create opportunities, he has to finalize his teams' plays.
As for being arrogant, that's hardly enough reason to deserve being hit by a bus.

That's debatable, and this thread is certainly not the place for it.

That's really really general, what criteria would one have to meet to deserve being hit a bus? And if they did meet it, why not something else than being hit by a bus?

Anywho...back on topic...The soccer player who creates his own scoring opportunities as well as creates scoring opportunities for his team mates is far more skilled (and valuable) than the ones who mainly "completes his team's plays"...
The truly gifted ones aren't the ones who just simply score a lot of goals but the ones with all around talent...lets face it.... every guy on the field can score a goal if it was given to them on a platter...
Ronaldo doesn't compare to Messi's dribbling prowess...Ronaldo is show boat that likes to put on a show for the crowd with flashy foot moves that sometimes having him losing control of the ball...
Ibrahimovic....Ronaldo....Ruud Van Nistelrooy...and all players with similar playing characteristics as these guys (Wait to collect a scoring passes) don't impress me no matter how many goals they score...

Ibrahimovic is a little different in this situation... his team sucked and he was the player that made the team lol, portugal have other options. Ibrahimovic played his best but his team let him down

Ya that penalty by Pirlo was a cheeky one...Nice... In other news England can't be happy with their performance in that game....Their goal got pounded repeatedly by Italy...They even got help from the goal post...Should be an interesting semis.....I wonder if it will be Spain VS Germany again like the last Euros...
