Two 1-hands with +crit damage on both can be better depending on how you play. Here's the style I'm using which is a decent example of just that.

Code: Select all

I'm using shit gear and it's working very well for me =s
I have a magic find set that gives me like 30k dps after sharpshooter, and I have a slightly better set with 55k dps after sharpshooter. I can get through act1 inferno pretty easily with either set, although leoric gets annoying since he's been updated. If you time the combo correctly with 100% crit you can do something like 500k damage in a single combo. Dex isn't as important as crit damage in this case, so try to stack it as much as possible (im at 282% currently). Using a crossbow helps greatly too since the archery bonus for it is crit damage.

Since I re-rolled barb, and still have my dh gear, I have some shiet to get rid of. I had ~40k dps without sharpshooter, and like 30% crit chance, 250% dmg. I stacked it instead of IAS a week or two before I know about the patch, so wasn't affected at all :3 Add me Snazzy#6538 if you need anything.

Was hard for me on even Nightmare, but I just upgrade my bow and now is fine. But I still die easily from cheap unaware attacks.

A ranged, much less a Demon Hunter, complaining that this game is too hard?

I've seen it all now.

Try playing a melee and then talk to me.

I finished act 2 inferno, but I can't kill a single elite pack in act 3. Just farming act 1 for some loot to get better gear atm. Got a sick lvl 63 barb bracer that I sold for 4.1m, so now im looking for some kick ass gear!

Pro-tip: You're ranged, don't get hit. Hell was easy as a Barb because the damage is still sort of manageable. The difficulty comes when you have to be up front face tanking mobs with stupid affixes that shit all over your life. Ranged has Mortar to really worry about.

My advice if you're having trouble on a difficulty like Hell is to try a new build, something like the one I posted at the top of this page. It made inferno act 2 MUCH easier for me. Also if you find yourself running low on Discipline you should get a chest with +disc or a quiver (quiver being the cheaper of the two).

If that shit ain't working, maybe your gear is much worse than you think. Whats your DPS/dex/crit damage/crit chance?

I had trouble with hell too, I just bought a new weapon (50-75k max) which lasted me till I hit 60 in act 3. It's really not that hard once you get enough dps.

because your resistances are non existent, your damage reduction is not great and your HP is fairly low.

No point in a DH gearing out AR, and hp in hell. It is sorta viable in Inferno, but it costs a lot more than glass cannon. A little more hp might be nice, but you might just need to change your playstyle a tad?

ur dps is very weak and thats with the 100% crit chance from that one passive, try stacking 100+ dex on each piece while looking for decent vit. what I do is just put 100 dex in the criteria list and find cheapest for each slot you can increase ur dex by at least 400, since i'm only sitting at around 1300 with old 40~ gear. I'm also guessing your bow is shit, try looking for one with at least 250 dps for level 51.

btw we should play together, I'm currently 53 lazily working my way through hell

This is the build I use most of time.
I often switch between Cluster Arrow for Elemental Arrow.
Also, I often change it depending the environment.

I agree but he was asking why he was dying, implying he wanted more survivability so that's what i answered with haha.

This. They released a Beta of a game after 12 years and expect it to be fixed with a RMAH that just kills the game even more.
