Can't f ucking stand it anymore This piece of shit laptop has been unstable pretty much from the day I've bought it (August 2012) and now it's too late for the warranty. Whenever I play a game, it'll overheat and eventually crash (there's some good days). I haven't actually ran any temperature tests but the laptop gets very warm and eventually I'll get "Display drivers has crashed" errors along with my wifi becoming very laggy. I'm hypothesizing that my laptop overheating is affecting my GPU and Wi-Fi card thus making them both crash. I've been updating all my drivers frequently but it doesn't seem to be fixing the issue. I've also reformatted a few months hoping it would re-install all my drivers fresh and maybe fix the issue but again no results. So I come to you guys, any suggestions? Not trying to blow any cash on fixing it as honestly just gonna invest on a tower this summer and get a tablet for school. Here's some information on it if it can be any help

Tablet for school is not a smart idea, I tried it and let's just say it wasn't as good. Perhaps if it has an attachable keyboard it could work but I am still not a fan. I suggest a lightweight pc without much regard for power.
I remember when gw2 came out that you couldn't play it, just unfortunate. Laptops overheating seems to be a theme for now and I also don't know how to deal with it. I suggest trying to dupe some1 else into buying it.

I had a generic Acer laptop that I was playing SRO on for a very long time. I never turned it off and it would be on for days and even weeks. I had no issues. I prefer laptops actually and will be looking for a gaming laptop in the future. Maybe you can do the same as they are built for gaming and will not overheat....A cheaper solution however would be to get a laptop cooler if you truly believe overheating is the problem....

May be a stupid question, but where are you placing it while in use? If it's just sitting in your lap or on a chair that is most likely the reason it overheats. Put it on a desk and buy a proper cooling pad for it (you know, the plastic things with the fans in).

I did manage to eventually level to 80 and run Dungeons by using MSI Afterburner but that was just a temporary fix. I always manage to sell my PCs to friends or on kijiji so I'll try that I think. Gonna need to find a replacement soon though for taking notes in class (don't you tell me to handwrite biatch)

I'll take the oportunity to bitch about my laptop as well cause I am pissed Stupid laptop is a piece of shit. I've been trying to install dual boot Ubuntu on it for the last 2-3 days. I won't recognize what's on the USB's I plug, neither 64bit nor 32bit It won't even recognize a CD has been jammed in so as to boot from CD. I've only tried 64bit on a CD so I guess I'll try 32bit tomorrow... before you ask, yes I changed the boot priorities in the BIOS so no, that's not the issue Im sick of working on Virtual Box ubuntu, this damn thing is too old for it. Virtual box literally runs at 2 fps... Takes ages to even move files around, when all I wanna do is program some shit in C for school. ADFKAGFAGFIGFUIGAWTQT08ETYQWYIUY48992BCDFRDC45RF

that's weird, i run this crappy build
Samsung Series 3 NP350V5C-T01US 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7-3630QM AMD Radeon HD 7730M 2GB Graphics 6 GB DDR; 500 GB HDD 15.6-Inch Screen Windows 8 (downgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate)
and i play games pretty much every day around 4-5 hours, high-end pc games and ps2/wii emulators. have not had any overheating issues as of yet.
is your fan working properly? i clean my laptop every couple weeks for any excess dust, maybe you should try that out, and buy yourself a proper cooling pad.

Open it Take apart the cooling system I've seen it enough people at home using canned air Trying to blow out the dust from the outside Blowing all the dust into the fan, which blocked the fan from spinning at all

Just wanna say, I've got this same laptop, but with an SSD and I've never had any issues with it. I've always kept it on a cooler if I use it for gaming though.

No kidding eh. How much are those laptop coolers? I bought one for like 20 bucks off Amazon, and it really does well. Pretty much anything that gets your laptop off it's intake vents helps. Then on top of that it's got a fan that helps airflow. You can buy them as cheap as 10 bucks, but I'd say the sweet spot would be around the 20-30 dollar range. Mine is still going after 2 years or so.

I just have to find one that isn't too bulky as I wanna be able to carry it in my backpack
