My expectations were pretty high as I've played morrowind, oblivion, skyrim, and loved them all. The world and some of the feeling might be there I guess but there's some negative aspects that might just be a bit too big for me to overcome. In no specific order they are:
-Monthly fees.
-Armor design. It's really lame... pasted on the skin, woop. If you're in a slightly darker area, it's almost like everyone is wearing the same shit. :/
-Generic classes. What the hell... I hoped they would have a system that gives you a huge variety in builds (they certainly had everything needed for it if you look at the older titles), e.g. train skills -> level up your char -> gain a skill point or couple upon level up, spend them on your chosen skill tree to gain new abilities. Since there would be a limited amount of points, everyone's char would be different. They could have made something awesome out of this...
-Lame skill animations and color schemes. Some spells are using the same colors/effects way too much. Some of the animations look like they're missing every 2nd screen, many of them are too damn fast. It breaks the immersion when a warrior in heavy armour is jumping around like a super charged monkey. I didn't enjoy GW2 grinding because I found myself spamming the same 2-3 skills over and over again in hack & slash pew pew style. It's not that hard to create some variety and good looking animations... Like real dynamics, not a 2h warrior performing a double spin in 0,3 seconds. Why does it always have to be so fast paced pew pew action. It gets a lot worse when combined with slow leveling.

Where's the original stuff at?
Did you even get into the mechanics of the game? It's a known thing that the classes are pretty much just templates as you can customize your own build

God damn it, I accidentaly closed the window when I had almost finished my long reply... I'm perfectly aware that you can mix/customize builds. But as you can see I was hoping for something completely different than just another class system. I wanted something similar that they had in Skyrim or a combination of Skyrim and Morrowind. The only limit would be your skill points/perk points but nothing would stop you from being spellcasting ranger in robes with sneaking abilities or a tanky knight kind of char but with summoning & healing cababilities.
And before someone says anything about the combat in the past games, of course they would have had to create active skills for everything in ESO. It would kinda ruin the fun for many people if you only had a couple of different swings. :p

Chrome... It has saved me several times.

Yeah, Skyrim's combat is too boring and unresponsive for me.
I was able to play this game last weekend during their weekend long beta. I was impressed with some of the things you can do ingame like capturing bugs for fishing. Searching for treasure using a map I found. Picking locks on treasure chests in search of loot. Simple things like these made the game interestingly different.
I however wasn't pleased with the character modelling and the movement animation of characters. They moved about like puppets and lack that fluidity of body motion. They also look hideous. I am not sure if this game is worth paying to play. I'd have to play it some more to find out.

I played the game again this weekend....definitely not going to get it....Overall I didn't find it appealing.... It felt/look like an old outdated game with poor game physics and bad character modeling and all of that was layered over with modern graphics technology....In other words gift wrapped garbage...
