It's been a long time since I've played SRO, maybe 8 years or so. I bought a new system and thought I'd finally get to see what our beloved SRO looks like in full, high detail graphics and see what's been going on in the servers lately.

It took me a bit of the afternoon to even remember my login info, but I eventually figured it out... only to be met with a "secondary login code" or something. I had no clue what that even meant, or how to get a code, but then it told me that it sent one to my email address on record.

Email? What was that address I used again? *thinks long and hard*

Oh yes... I remember now. I did the whole email verification thing with an email address I have not even used in, well... about as long as I stopped playing SRO. What to do? What to do?

I tried logging into that email account, only to find that the account did not even exist anymore. I guess they delete email accounts if they are dormant for so long. Who knew? So I recreated it, got the secondary code straightened out, and logged in.

Couldn't find Venice!!! *heart stops*

Then I remembered... Venice merged with... something.... *google search*... ah, merged with Greece to become Hades (I think)... Then I discovered another server merge. I guess I'm on Selene now. I had to log into a few servers to even find my main character.

It brings back memories running around Donwhang and Hotan. Some things have changed, mobs are in different locations, but I'm liking it so far... at least exploring the land. It looks so much different with all the graphic settings on high.

Sad to say, my storage is gone due to the mergers, but I still have some stuff in inventory. Too bad I can't seem to get my wife's old account. Joymax website says the account doesn't even exist. :/

I am impressed that you actually managed to remember your email address after so half a decade.

Anyway most people nowadays play on private servers instead of Isro, which is basically the same thing but better exp/gold drop rates and various caps, You can find 80, 90, 100 caps instead of isro 125.

Recently I actually managed to get my first account back too. I lost it shortly after Euro came out, got hacked or something. It was set to some weird turkish email, so I had to make a new email and verify that. I fucking cringed at all those character names I had. Unfortunately there wasn't much to see ingame since the storages were empty and I didn't get any high level characters during my time with that acc anyway.

I highly doubt I'll actually have time to truly play SRO, whether isro, private servers, or any other kind. I mostly wanted to see what the game looked like on a higher end laptop, or even if the game was still in existance after almost a decade.

It's good to see that it is still alive and kicking after so long, in various forms.

I guess if I really had some time to commit to it, I'd start over in some private server, but I don't think I could commit to that. I keep feeling that I put a lot of time into my blader to get to a tiny level of 55. I'm sure with some good parties, time, and all, I could get a new character back up to that level or even higher, but.... it wouldn't be PR0METHEUS.

I did run around a bit and ended up finding a small group of players on Selene. Their English wasn't great, but it was better than my Spanish. They spoke Spanish mostly, but I'm not sure where they were from. It was at least good to see people actually talking on there. Way back in the day, I barely found any of that on Venice, at least toward the end.

To be honest, I wouldn't even know how to get to any of the private servers.

Well, you only need to download a patcher from the private server (same way you downloaded Isro), but finding a decent private server is the hard part. I guess you can go to elitepvpers or something to find some still active servers when you feel like it.

And other 5% lol..

You know... it IS Silkroad. There is still a chance that he might be back one day

Oh, we're still here. And what I have found lately is that there are actually quite a few people who just lurk around, not posting. Just like I did for the first couple of years.
Every once in a while you'll see someone pop in here and say hello that you never thought you'd see again. It's lovely, really

Im glad to hear that, i finished university as a dentist, did my internship and currently looking for a job.

Yeah me too, i honestly look back at silkroad and it was fun (by today’s standard, its a bad game because of how p2w it was), i enjoyed private servers most, and because im not working right now im looking for something to do (other than job-hunting), but unfortunately, nothing worth it.

Sweet, congratulations on getting your degree! Hope you find a job soon. In Denmark, being a dentist is one of the highest paying jobs there is!

Here, it doesnt pay that well, im considering moving to a European country tbh.

The only MMO I play these days is FFXIV. but its so different from silkroad! Something about the combat and pvp in sro is still awesome imo, even vs games that are technically far superior!
