Guys, I'm at lvl 25, SP farming with about 8-9k so far. I'm thinking of switching to Blade, cause it just seems so useful with the shield and all the cool looking flips and stuff. My glavie tree or w/e is currently at a skill mastery of 16.
How much money would it take to get rid of all the skills? (I'll probably do this later on though, since it will just be a waste of money since I wouldn't need to remove it until I hit the 300/300 skill mastery total mark.)
Should I do it? Or shouldn't I.
BTW I am pure STR basically, with a few misplaced points into INT when I was a noobie.

If it's what you really want, I would say yes. In the end, it depends how worth it it is to you though. At a level 16 mastery that isn't too many skills to lower. I have a friend in guild who is level 34 who switched from spear to sword at about level 30.

i changed from glaive to blade at level 15, with my mastery at 15 also(before i knew about level gaps, etc). no bad side effects yet. don't worry about deleveling your skills until later though, because you don't need the extra mastery levels until higher, and it'll cost less compared to what you make ^^

Don't. Glavie has higher damage, and can level faster. It also has the nice HP bonus, and harder hitting spells.

im spearman so i have some idea of the masteries for it,
if i could.. id switch to a swordsman ( in ur case bladesman )
blockig nratio at higher level is awesome! shields help alot..
and yeah the hp bonus is good, but not too good.. harder hitting skills? well hell yeah.. but sloooow... takes about 4-5 seconds if u want to combine ghost pedal and soul spear together ( including the delay after the hit.. )
where as bladesman/swordsman can block anythign, depends on luck... and their attack's are faster, would love to combine a few of those sword combo's together ><
personal oppinion tho.

hmm thanks for input.
but i'm still not sure what to do. lol.
the shield really seems uber useful. and with the shield, i can use the fire shield series, which reduces the abnormal state, which i hear is very very useful for pvping. (fly's thread)

The choice is upto you, as both have their adv/dis adv. The advantage to the blade/sword is undoubtedly the shield. Especially with a high block ratio... Its really nice to watch high level glavie users do their most powerful glavie blows, only to see a Block.. Block... appear!!
However there is a MAJOR disadvantage... and that is damage... You don't start doing high amounts of damage till around level 40+ which ends up hurting you in the long run. Because it takes so damn long to level up and kill with. Especially as an ice user... I used to be Ice, but switched around level 30 because Ice just wasn't cutting it, the damage/leveling time for both of the most defensive combo in the game (ice & shield) was really making the game drag for me. I've since switched to lightning, keeping some of my ice skills around to be leveled later. But for now its all about the lightning for me... And although it's pretty offensive lightning can still be a bit of defensive with its parry ratio increases.
The glavie however is a bit stronger, it does alot of damage early on, and is especially useful depending on if or not your building a "nuke" (One that is built upon the high damage one shot force power blows) character. Because the nukes are TOTALLY weapon ratio based. The stronger the weapon, the higher the damage. The lower the weapon the lower the damage, and we all know the glavie/spear has a much stronger damage ratio then a sword/blade.
IMHO it's really upto you as to what you prefer offense (spear/glavie) or defense (sword/shield).

blade damage is not lower. useing just a normal attack glaive hits for a certin number. blade hits for half that number, but twice as fast. in the end, u get the same attack.
useing skills, its pretty much the same thing. glaive skills hit for one huge number. blade skills hit for alot of small numbers in the same time as the glaive skill which adds up to around the same damage.
what weapon you want depends on how you want to play. blade has shield which gives block and defence. blade has a better time serviving attacks. glaive does one large hit, which if crits, will end the duel.
and no, glaive does not level faster. its the same rate. pick w/e u want.
