I disagree. Anyways it's one of many rationales. And I said 'tend'; I never fully take something for true. Even the fact that the earth rotates at so and so speed - I leave room for error in that fact. Cos one simply never knows.

Dude you were clearly putting me and my idea down. If you disagree, say no. Why bring up the fact that I smoke and claim I was high while I came up with this idea?

so you have the rights to control what i say?If i remember correctly you aren't a mod/admin or head of the Soviet Union, and why didn't you just say no to what I said?instead of calling me a close minded moron.

"i said are you sure you weren't high?" targeting at when you said you feel you could move a cup just by concentrating enough.

sorry but maybe i put your idea down by "disagreeing" with a reason.
But i don't see how i insulted you.

Accusing someone of being high especially if they are being serious can easily be taken as an insult.

I'd like to believe it, but no. It's as bake hilariously summarized it. I do think humans haven't even touched their true potential yet though.

Whatever XuChu, not gonna argue about it.
Nuklear do you have any idea of what kind of potential you're talking about? That you'd like to elaborate?

I honestly really like what Stallowned said...
Quote:
The brain is a very complex thing.
Us using such a small fraction of it, it is foolish for us to even say what we could and could not do should we be able to use 100% of it.

Futile, rather than foolish, seems a better way to put it to me, but this is a good point. But hey just cos it may be futile doesn't mean we can't do it.

I wouldn't venture to guess what we're really capable of, but I doubt w/out any outside "help" we'd be able to evolve to have powers. At the most I believe we would be smart enough to defy science and maybe create a possibility for us to be able to use such abilities. But it really doesn't make sense since we don't really need such things and it would only lead to our retarded self-destruction like history has showed us time and time again.

There will always be limits--the mind could not be capable of something, or it could just be impossible because it's subject to the laws of physics. I, however, am not saying that we truly understand our own limitations.

For example, even if we could fly (without aid or anything else), our heavy bodies would not allow us to. Keep in mind that air does have a mass.

Who knows?

I defiently think some things are possible, we just don't know.

I saw a show on like History channel or one of them, where a guy knocked out other people without even touching them. Pretty amazing.
Telekines, perhaphs not, but remeber this, human minds cannot come up with totally new ideas, only ideas based on other things.

Pan and Bake you can come mop up my fucken brains then, sound good?

How could you say something so retarded? I'd ANY DAY rather be at an extreme of open-mindedness rather than an extreme of close-mindedness. I'm not an idiot, though.

I'd any day rather not be at either extreme. Moderation in all things, my friend. You sound like you could use a beer.

Telekinesis isnt realistic. I am open minded to human cloning though, i can see that happening.

I don't know...is there a way to actually measure a physical wave length when we concentrate on something? If that's possible then I guess we could, otherwise no.

Care to explain how you believe telekenesis to be unrealistic? BTW I'm not saying it's possible, it was merely an example of the whole concept of those kinds of abilities. Although I do feel like it could almost be done...but we already attributed that to me being crazy and to being high(thank XuChu and some other guy for those genius revelations).

BTW Bake I was choosing and comparing between extremes, not saying it is good to be extremely open-minded.

What kinda beer you got? Some OE please? Or if we're goin soft how bout a Corona? You're damn right I could use a beer.

It isnt realistic because our bodies aren't capable of producing that kind of energy to where we want to move things, we can't even survive in extreme cold. Now on the other hand why do u think its realistic?

What about those monks who are able to produce ridiculous amounts of body heat or spend the night in the frost?

There definitely is more to the mind than just thought, pain, and motor functions.

I used to read a lot about this kind of stuff a long time ago, and it didn't seem too far fetched.

High or not, the idea shouldn't just be shunned away into nothingness because it's unrealistic.

Take skateboarding or snowboarding, both sports defy the laws of physics and people do it everyday.

Most people use less than 10% of their brains. Most SRO players use less than 3% of their brains. So if you think about it that way, there is still a lot we're capable of that we haven't yet discovered.

Exactly it is unrealistic and what the **** do you mean skateboarding or snowboarding defies laws of physics? Why do people teach continue to teach the laws of physics?
let me explain: The reason why people go flying when they do tricks skateboarding is because the force that throws the in the air is stronger than the force of gravity. If you are still in school I highly suggest you revise your physical science.

and also I apologize if I offended any of you weed-smokers here esp. black if when I say "maybe you were high".

Ok so maybe I was a bit exaggerative..

XuChu.. sorry but you fail..

To perform an Ollie there are three forces at play.
- the weight of the skateboarder
- the force of gravity on the skateboard
- the force of the ground pushing upward on the skateboard

I highly suggest you look it up for yourself instead of assuming I simply meant the forces that allow them to fly, as you put it, through the air.
