(look it depends cause if u want to farm i think u sould take fire.... but if u want to grind then take cold cause the mons wont get to ya and u wont get hit.
thats my opinion.... but im pretty noob in this game.
(i have 29 pure str glaive ifre, and 11 pure int sword )

really inthis game it comes down to fighting other players, whether u be a theif hounter or trader. and ice is useless in pvp because of pills or imunity. so go with fire due to the fact that it adds damage and does damage over time.

Ice in pvp (especially in higher lvls) is useless due to immunity. it has also low dmg. i would go fire for max dmg. for pvm i prefer fire too, you will be killing faster and you wont get hit too much

Cold doesn't work that well for me once you get higher up in the game, most of the monsters don't even freeze until the 2-3rd arrow in which point there probably already hitting you. So go fire. The whole point of an archer is to kill whatever your objective is before it gets to you. To do that you need the most damage = fire.

go for cold it freezes mobs or makes them frostbite, and even if you go fire it won't do that mutch more damage you will notice the difference if you are lvl 50+ but than still, that 100-200 more damage won't save your ass when fighting a mob ( NOT PVP, in pvp fire is your m8 )

max fire imbue for the dmg. cold imbue a little for the effect during pvm, else get frost nova (but u lose time casting on mobs if some one is trying to KS ur giant).

From only hunting experience with the bow, I think it depends on your build and what you plan on wearing. If you don't have the hp to tank (i.e. a hybrid or pure int), you will need ice to slow the monster down. In contrast, if you're full str bow, then you want the 'fire' power to increase damage per arrow since you lack the overall attack power (not incl. crit). Also, what you wear matters, if you are int heavy with low hp, you could still use fire if you wear armor for added protection. Of course, then you'll be all slow and broke from buying mp pots!
What about lightening imbue? Is the splash too much to handle???

i cant believe that ppl still votes for ice. dam..
ice USED TO BE GOOD before the alchemy system. ice USED TO BE OWNAGE before auto-potion system. Because it freezes enemy like hell if you're a bower or blader. but now.. today.. we have both auto-potion and alchemy system which kills ice in pvp.
Well ice isnt good for PVE neither. I believe people used to choose ice for pvp. coz as i said above, ice had a big advantage in pvp. But it has no use in pvp now, especially at the cap.
If you choose Ice for pve, sorry but i'd call that stupid. Whats the point of freezing a mob which is supposed to die in a few seconds? You need to kill the mob as fast as you can to be good at PvE.
I really dont get it.
Why not dealing more damage with fire? Why not killing the mob with less hits and training faster? Why sacrificing your damage just to freeze a damn mob?

For slowing down the damage inflicted on you; for those with low hp; for the sissy who can't take a hit; for the poor boy who can't afford the hp pots.
Of course, it's still the most ideal to kill it before it reaches you. i.e. fire + range bonus.

Fire is good because of high damage. ice is ok, but people can just pot out of it. mabie a pure str archer with cold is good because your not relying on imbune dmg to kill, you are relying on crits.

cold is good for mobs IF u have a rabit or monkey to pick up ur loot cuz with ice u kill the monster and u have to run to the loot unlike
fire where ther mob dies right infront of u
and higher lvls are immune to ice + theres a 300 masteries cap so u gotta think about that my build has no room for ice lol with the new skills(hopefully they come right when i am lvl 70)
