It's hard to believe a year went by, but today my daughter Isabel turns 1 year old. I've been putting in some training time with her trying to get her recruited into the world of Silkroad as a gamer chick, but there's plenty more work to do there. One day she'll be ready to have a character of her own. :D

Shameless plug: I do have a stall in Hotan on Venice with 1m MP and HP pot stacks if anyone wants to buy her something  :P

haha I'll keep that in mind. Yeah she probably won't like that. Although one time when she was maybe a month old, she was laying on her back half asleep and spit up ALL over her face (nice visual?). Instead of crying, she just opened her eyes and had a HUGE smile on her face. So you never know....

I won't be pushing her face in the cake though. :)

Happy Birthday. It's my own daughter's third birthday today. And I encourage you to get her playing silkroad early. I have my daughter grinding 2-3 hours a day, after preschool. If only she remembered to repot and didn't spend all my gold on "pretty purple clothes, daddy", she'd have me to level 80 already. Piece of advice: do not teach her how to stall until she learns some basic math! My daughter sold my SOS 32+5 Glavie for 400k and I put her in a timeout for a week! Anyway, gratz and gl.

Congrats. But a mechanic chick is much sexier than a gamer chick.

I know a family friend whose kid was exposed to games too much when he was little and now hes got no life because he never studies for school

Shows how much you know. Soon, when the whole planet is operated by joystick and hotkeys, my kids are gonna pwn your kids. Later this afternoon, I'm going to return the Dora the Explorer Sit-N-Spin that grandma got my daughter and exchange it for Gears of War. Me and PROMETHEUS will proudly watch our kids mow down teh nubs!!!

Sorry, PROMETHEUS. I was having a bit of fun on your thread, enjoying our daughters' birthdays with some joking and someone took it all a bit too seriously. As a parent, I'm sure you know I'm joking and took it in the spirit it was meant. Sorry if anything I did turned the thread into a trainwreck.

Jstar: Lighten up. Seriously.

I personally don't find it a good idea to get your kid playing, especially for hours a day, at how old did you say? like 2 or 3?

Bad start down a bad road.

But hey, they ain't my kids. Do what you want.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I guess some people got a little carried away over the whole "kids and video games" thing, but that's ok. I'm not REALLY teaching her to grind on SRO at 1 year old. Maybe someday when she's old enough, but that won't be for a long time.

It's like at my job. I do computer security work (risk assessments, vulnerability scans, pen test, government C&A work) and whenever someone has a new baby, people always ask "so when will his/her C&A training start?". I mean you can never be too young to read NIST SP 800-30 or 800-53 :D :D :D

Oh and here's a picture of her playing SRO while I was afk:
