Mediafire is highly underrated. And Yousendit is great for temporary hosting.

I think the best on of them all would be Multiply.com . It's like MySpace for file hosting lol.

Can you tell me how to set it up correctly so anyone can download it(won't ask for ftp username and password).

download filezilla (http://www.filezilla.com i think or google it)

then you can add/remove files from your ftp and there is an option for
username/password on files. i use my dad's ftp to put prototype websites
on and some stuff i want to share with my mates.

filezilla = easy2use ftp client.

Yeah I already got Firezilla and FlashFxp, and I already know how to set up my own forum. But I don't really know where is that Username/Password Option for files.

Thanks for the info.

with the forum, you mean you added httpdocs to the ftp folders i guess.

to add pics and files, move these pics/files from your computer to the
http folder of your ftp (the folder that contains your webpage files). here,
you must have the possibility to give the file a password or not. just keep
trying it im sure the option must exist. when you are done with uploading,
close down filezilla and go to your webbrowser. now in the adress bar, type
"www.yourpagehere.com/thefileyoujustuploaded.zip" or whatever your site
is and what you just uploaded :P that works for me. for example, i made a
simple concept site interface for a car garage. to try out how it works online
(including a link to the map) i uploaded it on one of my dad's ftp's.

http://www.pro4ce.nl/indit3.html ~> pro4ce.nl is the name of his ftp and his site.
indit3.html has got nothing to do with his site, but it does work since i
uploaded it to the ftp. this web ftp is programmed to always startup the index.html.
thats why it doesnt matter if you put other files in that folder.

So that's why it won't upload... The web host doesn't allow .rar and .zip files. LOL
