Why are most Hockey players from Canada but Canada has the fewest NHL teams?

Canada usually has the best players also unless the USA gets lucky a few times....

Canada has the most dominat players in hockey when it comes to Olympics and World Cups or watever

They only have 3 or 4 NHL teams in Canada....

Well theres things like taxes and fundings for a proper sized stadium. Then of course having to buy the team. Most places don't want to spend all that money.

6 teams in Canada. Anyways it's because we have a lower population here which means less major citys. plus their are really only a few provinces that have a dont alot of majors cities that a hockey team would really do well in. But they may get another team in Canada. but only bad thing is alot of people already have had favorite teams which they have like since child hood so they probably wont change. Also alot of major cities are to close to Toronto to put a team there.

Being from canada,
i would say that our people do well at hockey because we have the spirit.
it's our sport, our passion. Just like UK and their "football" as they call it.
On a larger scale, look at the bell center in montreal, it's the biggest of the NHL, with a capacity of 21,273 persons. It is also the only one to be filled all year long.
Smaller communities always have junior team and there are many government programs to improve the quality of the leagues. Thus, there are many kids that develop themselves or found out that they have a talent.
Most high schools hold intercity tournaments to promote that as well.

Brief, we simply love hockey.

LMAO Montreal isn't the only team to get sell outs all year round if you knew anything you would know avalanche have the longest streak right now for sell outs plus Toronto gets sell out every game also. Also i am sure most canadian teams get sell outs year round plus a few american teams. And not just small communities get junior teams alot are because there to close to other NHL teams.

Ok, maybe montreal isint the only city that sells out on every single game of the year before november, but it sure is the biggest stadium.

And for the second part, i didnt understood what u were trying to say.

The second part is that there are major communities that have junior teams and those cities are big enough to have NHL teams. But they don't get NHL teams due to them being to close to Another NHL city. Hamilton is big enough to get it's own team just it's to close to Toronto. the city i live in is big enough to get a NHL team but it's to close to toronto also. That is the main reasons why alot of places don't get teams due to the fact there to close to other NHL cities.

also the pitsburg penguins are probably moving there too.

plus, Calgary sells out every single game, we have a big stadium, its just that majority loves hockey (I like basketball more) but still.

Every major city in Canada has a hockey team, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa (of course), Vancouver. Winnipeg use to have one but lost it simply because they lost money and population.

No people.

No money.

No team.
