Hello all
I didnt understund why a bow character is only good when she full STR?
as i see on the bow statistics she have a hige MAG dmg but in all the guides it recomended to build a bow statistics in full STR or Hybrid that foucs at STR.
So why is better to build a bow statistics with full str

Im sure that if you look at any weapon, the magical damage will be higher than physical.
The reason for the Str based bows is strictly the fact that bowers at this point in time, they have no moves to buy them time. Eg. Bladers \ Sword users have Knockdown, Glaive and Spear users have Stun and Knockback, Bows...have nothing yet. So since there are no skills like the ones i mentioned, they have to rely on having high enough HP to tank a few hits while they gain range to attack. INT based bows simply dont have that HP.

plus, bow skills also increases crit ratios, which are basically useless with pure ints
and when new skills come out, arrow combo is supposedly gonna get kb with its new book

I use bows with cold to stop the enemy in his tracks. This doesn't always work but it will at usually at least slow them down. A cold blast in tandem with the arrows helps too sometimes. However i will usually switch to sword and shield if and when they close in. Then i may switch to lightning depending on how tough the guy is. It also depends on how many arrows I've picked up.

Greetings from Tibet,
I currently have been working on a new character "DestiniDawn". Though I am male. This character is Female pure Int/ Bow/ Ice/ Elec. At first she was weak, but, at level 24 with SOS bow, full book 1 Ice and 1 shy of full book Elec, she holds her own, earth ghost seam to be the only real issue, but she can take 2 at a time no problem.
The ice gives her big advantage when it slows the enemy down and gives me time to hit them even more or with lion shout (Yea she is low level) all in all she is a pretty effective and potent small package.
Just thoughts I would add my two cents.

Bow builds should always be str, cause they are more str balanced skills.

yes pure int bow is good against monsters as you described.
when you get to lvl 57+ you will realize you made a mistake and youll switch to spear or w/e.

Pure ints crit just as much as pure strengths, and the crit increases the damage. Blackdragon6 wrote: Bow builds should always be str, cause they are more str balanced skills. All weapon skills are strength based, this is not unique to bow. MrFudge wrote: DestiniDawn wrote: :D

What fudge means is that monsters don't pot, and you can kill them fast. When fighting a person with good gear( more common at higher levels) you will get destroyed very quickly.
The game balances itself by saying you have a choice. Lots of Hp but crappy damage, or lots of damage but low health.
ElliseD is right that the reason people recommend pure strength is for the hp, since you lack disabling moves. However it has been proven that even a heavy int hybrid bow can work. If you notice In ElliseD signature she is a strength hybrid bow.

WTF, EllisD is a GIRL? Ah. Okay. First SG, then Rizla, then Crumpets, and now EllisD. Hm...
However, San is trying to say that while Pure INT Bows DO Crit, the Crits aren't even close to as useful as a Pure STR / STR-Heavy Hybrid's Crits, due to the fact that the Critical's damage with a Pure INT pales in comparison to a Pure STR's Crit. It's not even close. While a Pure STR's Crit can almost effectively DOUBLE their damage, INTs might add a thousand, two thousand tops, at the HIGHER levels, provided that they're even using Weapon Skills, seeing as Nukes don't Crit.
Critical is calculated from STR. Not from INT. Therefore, Pure STR's Crit > Pure INT's Critical.
Goes like this:
Pure INT Average Damage > Pure STR Average Damage
Pure INT Critical < Pure STR Critical

Hmmmmmmmmm.
Okay EllisD, are you a girl??
I really have no idea. And i don't mean any disrespect either way.
The whole who crits harder debate. I am more than happy to test this. I am a int hybrid bow, if there are any lvl 54-55 pure str bowers on the aege server I will gladly do an experiment with them.
Right now a normal anti-devil hits for 2.7-3k
crit hits for 4-4.2k
So that is a 50% increase in damage. Now I am not pure int, but I am sure crits help them a lot if they use weapon skills.
Also just to add to the why you might want to go pure or str heavy, is you can focus your gold on your weapon, and don't have to worry about your defense as much.
You can also wear garments a lot easier then I can, so you benefit from the speed increase.
