Hi, ive been planning for awhile to move to the US and study
I'm looking for some help to find good schools for foreign students in the New York/New Jersey area, it would be appreciated if I would get some help, by hearing some personal experience or url's to nice colleges in the area.
My subject would be learning advanced english, taking up spanish and my major would be some kind of economics.
thanks for the help =)

Studying in America is way more expensive than Europe, and Sweden especially, I'd be worrying about funds first.
Not quite NY area, still somewhat close, in Michigan there's a very good business school for your some kind of economics. I lived there, it's nice(Farking cold in the winter, but you're from Sweden so w/e).

I'm sorry but I can't help you with "good" colleges
But I say exactly to learn English AND SPANISH. No I'm not beinf racist, I just don't like it when your talking to one of your fellow Americans and they immediatly turn to there companion and start speaking Spanish.
It disturbs me to not know whatever it is :/

If you want a good economics degree, I'd recommend getting dual majoring or at least minoring in some form of applied math. It's as important, if not more important, to getting a job/grad school acceptance. (And if you want an Econ degree, you're pretty much wasting your time if you don't go grad).
That said, I HIGHLY recommend Princeton (not that I'm biased). The Princeton/Plainsboro area is beautiful, not too expensive (I was paying 600 a month for my apt, all inclusive, 20 minutes away from the school) Also, Princeton is usually ranked one of THE best schools for Econ, especially Labor and International Econ. It will also be easier to progress to the grad school since you don't have to move, and it's a bit easier to go from a school's undergrad to grad dept, than it is to move halfway across the country for another one.
If you don't like/can't get Princeton, Yale, Columbia, and NYU are all good schools in the general tristate area.

I'm no expert on schools in that area, but you can be sure that you'll need a loan of some kind to pay for classes. Just about every state has a university, just depends on which you decide to go to.
