am thinking of choosing warrior as sub class, and using sword and shield, as there the stabbing skill is mag damage based.

wear heavy armour
low hp, knock down and stab :) shield to block + extra defence buffs in the warrior class

Adding warrior for attacking skills is probably the biggest mistake you will ever make. Even if an attack is mag based the 1 handed sword is not a magic based wep.....without the mag attack power of the staff you mag attack is next to nothing. Besides a clerics offering/pureoffering wiz nukes are the most powerful attacks in the game....why would you not attack with them? and even wearing heavy armor dont kid yourself to think as a wiz you can go melee with another melee class :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

im gonna get fire, earth and ice... not lightning...

By the way,

Wizards and warlocks and clerics and bards need MP points to have a better attack right?

Rogues, warrior need HP points to have a better attack right?

cus casters and buffers use magi attack and melee's use phy attack...

Yes wizard, warlocks, clerics and bards need only int. Put all point to int.

Warrior and rouge need str... all to str

Has anyone tried to use Mana Drain skill? I know it's only for pvp; but is it really effective and how does it actually work? What is the best strategy etc?

Thank you very much :)

I haven't tried it, but I h ave a hard time justifying it. I don't know about you, but I would rather nuke them and take away all their HP, than use a skill that will take away half their MP.

My Rant about why you should get bard as secondary skill: :)

if you are going to go wizard/bard you really only need 2 skills and that is Moving March and Noise. Noise stops preemptive attacks up to a certain level. You get to upgrade these skills once every 10 levels so its not like you're wasting a load of SP just on a secondary class. Noise makes grinding a lot easier with a lot less dying. It applies to pets and shields you from Party Mobs. However, doesnt stop champions or giants, so if a giant mob spawns on you. Use teleport and get the crap outta there.

have fun[/quote]

i reckon your not aware of the bard's mana cycle skill or mana regeneration skill. saves you a lot of gold from purchasing MP pots. It stays even if you switch to your Staff.

@ shieldmaiden - Though I'm not building a wizard or bard, I wanna know whether the Noise, is it going to keep it as an active buff for a period amount of time or is it prevention only for one-monster-attack? (you get me?)

Noise is a buff very similar to Moving March (except it only effects the bard that cast it)

Its duration is slightly longer than moving march... 900 sec.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a sub class?

Do you need to wear the cleric clothes and weapon in order to do the cleric spells or can you wear wizard stuff and still do cleric stuffzzz?

that depends on what the skill of the cleric says as weapon requirement.
clothes have nothing to do with the skills, weapons do.

if it says required for the weapon it means it goes away if you change weapon again (eg. you take cleric rod to do a buff, then go wizard staff again, with a required skill this means the skill will stop working)

Cleric, because it has a shield and lets you use light armour, also because you can heal people. However.... it does not have mana cycle. Mana cycle is a bard skill that lets you gain mp faster for a short period of time. sometimes good, but after a while its useless.

There is a skill in the cleric class you can only use if you are wearing light armor.

I personally had started a pure int wizard in robes the day euro came out. After seeing what the higher lvl players do, and my style of playing, I have added cleric as my main tree with wizard as my main. I am lvling both equallying but I am staying with robes I am almost lvl 30 so I am not sure where my build is going. Though I wish more peeps sold thier drops, I hate wearing npc gear when my china has an sox set. =.="

Bump.

Also, I'm enjoying my Wiz/Cleric a lot. I'm currently level 42, Wizard Skills at level 40, bringing my cleric up to 40 right now. Going to 0 Gap until I hit 49, then de-lvl mastery down to 40 and farm Mujigis/Ujigis. I can't wait to get Recovery Division at Cleric 40. It seems like its a 300 second long healing cycle.

Okay here are some questions:

1. Can you frostbite someone and freeze someone at the same time? Cus im thinking of getting the earth "mesh root" and "root" + the ice attacks that freeze and frostbite.

2. Is it worth it to get lightning?

3. If i get warrior as a sub class, and im a wizard, and i wear the warrior armor... will my wizard damage or anything else be less?

1) Yes, you definitely can. But "root" is not really a useful skill in my opinion. You'll be able to hold only one mob; and with just one magical attack, you'll set him free.

Frostbite, freeze, and dull status can happen at the same time. The chance is low though.

2) With lightning, u'll get Fear, Tele, and lvl 20 lightning nuke.

Fear is useful for champs and giants
Tele has helped me survive quite a few.
For me, I need only lvl 1 of the lvl 20 lightning nuke; mainly because of its knock-back ability.

3) No.

The damage rarely is based on the armor you're wearing. The magic reinforcement of the armor might, but not obviously.

However, your moving speed will decrease.
