How bad is it to grind pre 40 w/ daggers?

its isnt bad or hard to grind pre lvl 40, im a lvl 23 daggers atm and its simple, grind in constantinople till you are 20, then go to J.G, and go kill chakji, they are VERY easy to kill ( easier then euros), and you get more xp. plus if u do the 2 chakji quests thats a even more of help

Hmm, well i'm 29 atm and I'm really tired of Xbow...I really wanna do some combo flips and stuff, I may not be doing the dmg i would do w/ xbow but it would keep me interested in the long run ya know?

i personally only think xbow is only good for early lvls, and in jobbing/pvp

but if u have xbow and dagger like i do, it gets easy, i recommend dagger, the moves are cool, keeps me interested

its not that hard even if your soloing just watch your health and know when to turn DD on and off but realize it'll probably cost more money than grinding with xbow cause you'll use up a tad more pots....

No point IMO. Unless you have zerk, you still can't tank giants your level since you don't have dull yet, and stun cancels if have poison on the giant. Also, wounds and screw have longer cooldowns than power and long shot, and power shot = KB, which is better than stun in PvE. You're better off just lvling with crossbow, even after lvl 40 (when you get KD).

i can kill giants above my lvl, with zerk, and giants under my lvl by 1-3 without, and im dagger,

from my personal xp i would say u should always have both... i am getting xbow skills but pretty late..

well my rogue is lvl 26 and im lvling at bloody ongs atm. i can kill them before they hit me... with daggers i would probably die if i used DD and without it would take much longer to kill them (and i'd still use pots).

are you sure about the stun thing canceling thing...i've never noticed it myself but i didn't really pay attention to it

Well, the stun does happen, but it has never lasted the full 5 secs before, in both PvP and PvE. Most of the time the monster/player gets to move immediately after I hit them while they're stunned.

Or maybe its just a typo and stun doesn't last 5 secs? >_>

i know i've stunned monsters b4 and while im not sure since i spam the poison imbue they were probably poisoned. Also in PvP i know i've stunned the full 5 secs (killed a lvl 42 with sos bow when i was 36) but i don't remember if i poisoned them. Its worth looking into cause that could change the way ppl play.

Ok, did some testing. Seems quite unstable though...it lasts the full 5secs when I just stun and run, but in poison it sometimes lasts 3 secs or the full 5 secs as well. The very last stun I did on a Hun Giant only lasted for 1sec, and I didn't run after stunning. Same thing happened when I pvp'ed someone. So there seems to be something that factors how long the stun lasts, although I'm not sure what.

Or maybe stun lasts for a random amount of time? Like from 1sec-5sec.

it think its a random thing with 5 being max...its like when i stunned using my glaive sometimes it lasted longer than other times...thx for testing it

Well i found a nice 29 dagger and I got the skills. I'm slightly confused when in party though. On Xbow i never draw hate, i'll be doing 1.7k long shots and like 800 dmg power shots (im level 30) but yet I NEVER draw hate. I then switched to daggers and put up DD. I was doing 800-900 screws and 395-410 wounds (400 per swing). The thing is, with dagger i constantly draw hate which doesnt make sense. Is the meleeing inbetween each skill whats making me do more damage than w/ xbow?
