Well recently i lvled up my bicheon and fire and lightning cuz i was dieing from sp farming on 7 lvl gap for a long time. When i did i realised i could also get the third book of the blade combo. Should I just skip the second book and get the third book or should i get the second book also?

The two are seperate skills. One is four-hit, one is five. Five is strong, but slower. Four is faster, but weaker.

Chains are useful for PvE, as they apply status and crit.
Knockdown, is more suited to PvP.

I'd get both.

Might want to look at cuchulainn's guide. http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4676

He also got both. I got to thieve with him yesterday, VERY good blader.

as fire blader i noticed it takes me like 1 imbue to kill same lvl mob (6 seconds)(without any sword skill) using imbue and 5 hit chain i save maybe 1-2 seconds.. using knockdown and being lucky i can 2 hit it (imbue + knockdown + stab)

i get the feeling knockdown is still more useful

Combos are great for PvP especially the 5 combo later on at level 51. Combos, Knockdown ,Stab, Combos, Knockdown ,Stab , Repeat until death.

Let me rephrase that. Comboes suck for PvP. They own at PvE.

Let me rephrase that...Combos have their place in certain situations, just like any other skill. People who use the same skills in every situation aren't using their build optimally.

at PvE I do always Knockdown ---> Succes = Stab, Fail = Combo. When the mob stands up or the combo is finished I do again Knockdown ---> Succes = Stab, Fail = Combo. When the mob stands up or the combo is finished I do again Knockdown ---> Succes = Stab, Fail = Combo. When the mob stands up or the combo is finished I do again Knockdown ---> Succes = Stab, Fail = Combo. When the mob stands up or the combo is finished I do again Knockdown ---> Succes = Stab, Fail = Combo. When the mob stands up or the combo is finished I do again and again and again.... :banghead:

Chains are the most mp and time efficient way to PVE. I use KD and stab when I zerk giants and depending on the number of successful KD, it is either better than just using chains or worse. KD will only put out more damage than chains when it is successful often enough since it's the stabs which do great damage fast since KD itself is rather slow to execute.

I find combos easier to use too since I just have to press 3 buttons no matter what rather than use KD then have to change buttons depending on the result. I just find it less stressful to just use combos. I plan to use the AOE knockdown and sword dance books to sp farm at 64 on earth ghost bugs though.

i say you should take both combos...do em in a row...lethal damage and sp efficient.i dont think u need to imbue for both of em...1 imbue should be enough
