I DONT KNOW IF IT HAS BEEN POSTED YET

Hello. This is Silkroad Online.

Regarding Trojan Virus

Some of our players are experiencing problems after the newest client update on May 26th (Silkroad Standard Time) with their anti-virus program.

For players using AVG as their anti-virus program, we have confirmed with AVG that this problem exists. If you are using other anti-virus programs and experience problems, please try downloading the newest update for your anti-virus program. If the error is still not fixed, let us know through the forums, and we will post updates as they become available.

We apologize for the delay in addressing this problem and for the inconvenience caused, and ask for our users understanding in this matter. The issue lies with incompatibility with certain anti-virus programs, causing them to detect the Silkroad file as a virus. There is no actual virus.

If you cannot run the game normally, or are receiving an error message such as [Error code 2] because of this anti-virus problem, please uninstall your current version of Silkroad, then install Silkroad again or uninstall anti-virus program for a while till it is fixed, then run silkroad. Your game should run normally.

To protect the security of our users, Silkroad Online runs daily virus checks. Please be assured that there is no danger of your system being infected through the game or our website. The majority of issues like these arise from software incompatibility or use of illegal third party programs. We recommend our users to refrain from visiting unauthorized, unsafe, or illegal websites, downloading illegal or suspicious programs and attachments, and to run periodic virus scans on their computer systems.

* To resolve this problem more quickly, Please, visit AVG official website and complain about it through the support.

I wasn't having this problem until I tried to install vent. Now I can’t get back in the game. To make things worse I didn’t save the installer when I moved all my stuff to my raptor drive. :banghead: :banghead:

Ugg.... This is really painful. I'm new to this game, and I haven't even played it yet, and already there is a glitch like this. Um... On the website they say it's solved. AND they tell players to bug AGV when it's their problem, not AGV's. @_@

Furthermore, Even if you reinstall the game and turn off the AGV bug searches, the installer will act like it's installing the files to programs/silkroad, but when you click into it it doesn't, AND furthermore it doesn't even create the icon that goes on your desktop.

I really don't want to say this, but runescape has better customer support. >_> RUNESCAPE. I can't even complain about it on the forums because they don't allow anyone who hasn't created a characters name in-game to post. Very, VERY bad system set up. I am extremely disappointed.

AVG*

Yeah, you're new, and you realize how shitty the game is. Why even start?

Exact same thing affected knightonline, AVG alleging that a trojan was lurking in one of it's game video files.

AVG had always been good to me until then and there seemed no solution.

Dump it and use Avast - free, awesome, auto-updates.
Try it, you'll love it.

lol i had the same problem a few days ago... tried reinstalling silk, wouldn't even let me finish cuz it saw that silkroad file had threat..

uninstalled avg, installed fine... played for a while
reinstalled avg, got the error 2 message

so I just ended up going to the options in avg and under resident manager, told it to exclude the folder program files/silkroad.

works fine now...

when they actually fix it i'll remove the exclusion again..

AVG free home edition has been coming up with false trogans for quite some time now. I switched to avast free home (avast.com) around a year ago on all my machines and have had no trouble.

I do agree with what many state here. Joymax is incorrect in assuming it's an anti-virus makers fault here. The should employ some skilled game coders for a change. Oh that's right, they can't afford it because SRo is a free game, hahahahahaha ya right, FREE.. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
